Too hard to chose just one.

Johnny Cash cover of The Mercy Seat or Hurt

Either of them, but I also love Disturbed cover of Sound of Silence.

Him cover of Wicked Game

Chris Cornell version of Nothing Compares

Basically give me a rock/metal cover or a Johnny Cash cover, and I tend to like it.

John Cale's Hallelujah is my favourite of all the different versions. He took a bunch of verses that Cohen had discarded and put them together into the version everyone knows today. (By his own admission, he picked all the ones about sex ). He also does a brilliant version of All My Friends by LCD Soundsystem.

His new band are brilliant (basically Chris TT and The Hoodrats) and the last 2 solo albums are brilliant. I'm glad his solo gigs and solo music is finally getting recognised as there was a time his solo gigs were just a Carter karaoke and he hated it
