Hyena Farming in Kenya

A Presidential candidate in Kenya which is an Eastern African country on the coast has economic plans to rescue the country. He plans to build hyena farms to export hyena testicles to China were they are considered a delicacy. As hyenas presumably only have two testicles which probably would never grow back then is this a good business plan. What would they do with the rest of the animal?

I'm guessing they'll feed the animals as little as possible until their testicles are big enough then kill them, in the cheapest way possible.
They'll have to keep some for breeding and they'll probably be kept in terrible puppy farm conditions, to make the most profit.
Just as the bears get a chance, the poor hyenas have to suffer for some hocus pocus Chinese medicine that is a load of crap.

Thought this might have been a nicer post for hyenas but doesn't sound much fun for them. I'm 1 of not many who love these animals, who are very fascinating |

Yes Thomas they don’t but do not let facts get in the way of your casual racism.
As a rule of thumb in the countryside the French will make use of every part of any animal they kill which for people like your fine young self may be yucky but here it’s normal.

The Chinese gave us acupuncture and even invented gunpowder years before the English. They bow rather than shake hands because they knew that shaking hands can be dangerous with all those germs Tom never shakes hands.They also invented the Chinese Takeaway. Tom respects the Chinese nation. |

Just because I like Chinese takeaway and long walls doesn't mean I like unnecessary poaching of endangered species for unproven health benefits. |

I rather think that anybody getting their balls chopped off might feel a little endangered, at least on the individual level. |

I cannot believe that the animal welfare will be top of their list and that would really be a concern.
As for the poor animals if all/most of the animal was used I'm ok with it...but if only the testcles were then I'd be really concerned.

I believe they will sale the rest of the animal for food , same as they do with the dogs . I always thought only China have dog markets but many countries in Africa also , such as Nigeria , Kenya , Uganda , Ghana, Serra Leoa , Congo, Cameron, Liberia and more countries will follow , as is booming all over Africa .  |

Food shortages may force many more countries including England to start using dogs as a source of protein. It is only social convention that stops the English eating dogmeat and not the law. Tom is no expert on biblical matters but it is only animals with a cloven hoof that we are forbidden to eat and a dog is not an animal with a cloven hoof. An animal with a cloven hoof includes pigs. Not sure any law stops us eating dog meat either as long as it does not mislead the consumer in it's labelling like the Findus saga.
Tom does wonder how diggerent the breeds will taste. Some hunting dogs may be gamier for example |

Tom wasn't lying when he said he's no expert on biblical matters. Git that one arse backwards. Pigs pass the cloven hoof test but don't chew the cud.
Not entirely sure what the laws of Kosher have to do with anything though  |

Well to be fair English dog breeds are bred to standards that are set by the Kennel Club. Imagine an English world were dogs are bred for good. Money mad scientists would develop intensive farming methods were dogs are crammed in denslet concentrating on the fast growing varieties that require the minimum food for their ghastly return. Eating dog would be better now before these greedy science types get involved. Imagine the English dashound or sausage dog as we know them on a spit with an apple in it's mouth... Over an open fire...
