Have you ever owned a car that cost you less than a month's wage
Jump to: Newest in thread
I've owned a couple that cost less than a days wages.
Bought a Fiat Strada off a mate for £30, as it needed some engine work. Sold off various useful parts then sold the rest of the car for £50.
Bought a Mini Clubman for £25, back in the days when classic Minis were plentiful and cheap. Harvested it for various parts for my own car, then one again, sold the rest on for a profit. If I still owned some of the cheap cars I pretty much junked in the 90's i'd be a very happy man |

Had plenty of cheapies, they've been pretty good and can do a lot of things myself but always end up pouring more money in by spare parts, tools...
Had to buy a newish one this year thanks to the Clean Air Zone rules coming to Bristol, which covers my work car park (just!). So now have the most expensive car I've ever owned |

Both of my cars were brand new
I don't know enough about cars to get an older one at least if I have new and anything happens the dealership will sort it |

I brought an Austin Maxi for £25.
Lasted approximately 30mins later on the great West road under the Chiswick bypass.
Managed to push it to a bus stop, pre all this electronic nonsense.
Unless you sent off the logbook they had no idea who has the car.
That was 1986 as far as I know it's still there |

£200 is the most I've spent. My current car, 06 Vauxhall Corsa CDTI Design edition 58k on the clock...Was having start issues. Scanner picked up an issue with the body control unit so that's been sent for repair which has cost £200

Yes. A D reg Ford escort. Cost £200 back in 2000. The insurance was 900 . Bought it as a quick fix for travel and got a year out of it.
Hilarious as it came with issues. I had to use hand signals during one night. Ffs |
