"As you were….." What's the good stuff in Aldi? I think I must have odd buying habits because I really wasn't impressed.
"As you were….. What's the good stuff in Aldi? I think I must have odd buying habits because I really wasn't impressed. " Potted herbs, mangoes, wet suits, one man tunnel tents, red wine, smoked mackerel in Piri piri sauce, peanut butter, litres of natural yoghurt, good selection of olives and tapas type stuff, Serrano and Parma ham. There’s more, much more, I’ve been once but I’ll be back

"I got my favourite axe from Aldi’s. Which isn’t as bad as it sounds. I do a lot with wood in my spare time. And this bad boy chops through everything I throw at it. I also got a really good pair of noise cancelling headphones that travelled with me for years but sadly broke and they have not been seen on sale since. It has the odd wine gem as well. Not so sure if the meats that great or if I’ve been unlucky. " I’ve not tried the wine as I only know Italian wine but my friend brings them to wild camps and they always taste good. I did read about the malt whisky range winning awards and better than brands 5x the price and I tried the Islay a friend bought and it’s decent

"I do like their gin selection and great for continental meats and cheeses, and who doesn't love a rummage about in the middle aisles, picked up some lovely wooden toys and stuff for work from there in the past. I don't shop there often enough tbf but Morrisons is just opposite work, more convenient and I'm not really saving that much on the big shop" There’s nothing quite like a good rummage in the middle asle
"Thinks like ibuprofen and paracetamol exactly the same as what you'd buy anywhere else. Fruit and veg, olive oil, Greek yougurt, cured meats, mussels in sauce. The Lidl by me does free range chicken so generally but that. Tend to use Iceland a lot, for frozen chopped garlic, ginger, onions, mushrooms, peppers etc. So I can make food in a rush also. I once bought Waitrose labelled milk in Lidl. So definitely milk " I keep frozen cubes of garlic, ginger and chilli for making masalas but I won’t use frozen veg other than spinach blocks. I think important to use fresh vegetables in cooking , it takes longer but you can batch and freeze chillis, curries etc

They're not as good as fresh but they're good for a quick homemade pot noodle to take to work.

Its basically frozen when picked which helps retain its vitamin/mineral content. The problem with fresh produce is that u have no idea when it was picked and how long it took to get from the field to the shop. In some cases over a week. By the time it reaches the shop its vitamin/mineral content has decreased which affects its nutritional value.

"And couldn’t keep up at the checkout " You have to be organised I get irritated at other shops mow as they take so long
