It's hilarious sometimes. A fire near me was tragic taking the lives of multiple people and animals. Alot are quoting global warming as the effect of the fire. I listen to local coverage on a arson investigation and still no matter what I say... It's global warming that caused the tragedy. Strange thought process. |

Global warming as the effect of the fire? That would mean that the fire caused global warming. If that's what the DM meant, then obviously that's tosh.
Arson can start fires but global warming can contribute to the spread and difficulty combating. If you have a drought (due to climate change) and therefore the vegetation is tinderbox dry, any small fire will spread quickly and may be harder to stop. |

It's just odd you explain local coverage and the state police is investigating it as arson.Yet the global warming brigades from Europe is saying otherwise. Why is that ? |

You have said it was the daily mail as the source of this and I find it hard to believe simply because you would hardly describe the daily mail as the global warming. |

"The Mail is an absolute disgrace and no mistake."
Yet they post and Europeans instantly went to "Global warming". Kind of a oddity when it literally happened 15 minutes from my home. |

This article refers to fires in multiple states, but includes this statement from Texas:
"Adam Turner, a spokesperson with Texas A&M University’s forest service, said that drought conditions have primed the area for fire, explaining: “We are experiencing dry fuels to a level that we haven’t seen in the past 10 years.”
I wonder why there's been a drought and "dry fuels not seen in the past 10yrs"?

Do you have a link to this story in the daily mail because I have trying to find it and can't find anything except from a fire in 2021. |

It doesn't mention global warming or climate change once!
From the article:
"It's unclear what started the blaze, but Pennsylvania State Police said they had launched a 'complex criminal investigation'."
"The cause of the fire remains unclear; four escaped but 10 were unable to get out along with 13 dogs." |

No I may be wrong, but I think it may be possible given the URL that it was a FACEBOOK post that claimed the Daily Mail said it was climate change, even though the article never mentions it. (It is the Daily mail so there's prolly some irresponsible journalism in there somewhere though) |

The Daily Mail doesn't believe in climate change so it's highly unlikely they would publish anything to "promote" it. Someone on FB might have added their own interpretation but the DM article there makes no mention of climate change and states that the cause of the fire is unknown and that local authorities have opened a criminal investigation. |

So often newspapers Have pages on Facebook and you often see news articles. The one you clicked on was originally posted on Facebook buy the daily mail. I think what has happened here is someone in the comments has suggested they think it could be climate change not the newspaper itself. |

OK so we have finally got to the point that somebody has written in the comments that is not the same as the daily mail claiming it was climate change. Somebody writing something in a comment does not mean all Europeans feel the same or trying claim that Every fire has something to do with global warming. |

The earth is heating up, yes, there is climate change.
But this incident doesn't say the cause.

So why does European automatically assume it is related? I can screenshot and redact my personal information if you wish. What does a family dying in a house fire considered arson have anything to do with global warming again ? Locally everyone treating it as a accident or arson not global warming. It's silly to think that global warming was the attribute to the fire. |

Do you realise that Europe is a whole continent and that actually, the UK has decided to distance itself (metaphorically) from Europe? Europe includes France, Germany, Andorra, Romania, Luxembourg and a big bunch of other places.
It's like referring to "America" and meaning the whole continent of America (north and south). I'm sure that Mexico and Canada have exactly the same outlook on everything as the USA. |

The poster said "this one fire clearly wasn't linked to climate change". Then went on to say that there are OTHER fires that are linked to climate change.
Those who think climate change can be linked to increased quantities of fires are not just Europeans, it is people who believe the 97% of scientists.
This includes people from Asia, Africa, North & South America, Oceania and Antarctica in addition to Europe. |

That article does not mention global warming or climate change, anywhere on the page or in the comments.
Ok it popped up on my FB feed I can screenshot and send you the euro comments on global warming if you wish. Nothing to do with global warming.
Ajd just because this one fire clearly wasn't linked to climate change it doesn't mean climate change and fires exacerbated by climate change aren't very real things
Do you consider yourself European yes or no? I consider myself north American. If not then your a uk patriot correct? Not euro. Unless you agree with brexit.than I'll call you a UK patriot. My feed blew up with nothing but UK global faults for the fire why is all I asking? No one took into consideration arson or accident.instant global "

OP you are literally the ONLY person in this thread that has alluded to ANY link between the fire and global warming/climate change.
Everyone else has either pointed out the Daily Mail didn't mention a link, or they have discussed OTHER fires where they MAY have been one. |

Exactly.
Also from a very quick look it looks like the people talking about fires being caused by climate change were wildfires not this specific fire. |

But you already told us these "facts" . You told us the Mail was quoted in an article about the house fire being due to climate change? A link was then posted to the mail about said fire but made no referance at all to climate change? Not sure how google maps will provide any such quote? |

I think the entire argument is based on what some person commented on facebook when they shared a Daily Mail link... and that is somehow representative of ALL Europeans. |

So there is a post by the mail on fb about the fire, then some random people have commented saying it was caused by climate change? The comments were not made by the paper? That right? Best thing I did was sack Facebook in 2017 when it became meme central. Same as Twitter with the anti Vax toxicity.
Take what you read on social media with a pinch of salt. |

I only use Facebook to contact family.
And Twitter can be ok if you spend some active effort to curate your feed (with muting terms etc) |
