But you've started some....I have to start a thread if something pops into my head,some good but most bad,im not fussed about being liked on the forums I do threads because no one is doing the ones I wanna post on |

I've said on here before that not a single comment I made in the lounge was acknowledged or responded to for the first 18 months of using the forums.
If it hadn't been for the replies I got in the Irish forum I would have given up.
During that time I started a handful of threads, all of which disappeared and are floating in the ether without a response.
Even though I've started dozens of threads since I often start typing and then can't be arsed and delete it.
It's never been about popularity. If it was I would have walked away a couple of years ago. |

I can't answer your question because I do start threads I can tell you why I start them.
Because I want to is the main reason in all honesty, Some are just silly, some more serious and some asking a question I would like an answer to. Some get lots of responses, some get hardly any and others go completely off Topic. I don't let that put me off because If nobody started threads there wouldn't be anything for anyone to comment on.
What I will say is those that don't want to start threads because they are worried no one will comment just do it anyway as you never know and is the end of the world if they don't? If you think the topic has been done to death and nothing new could be added then maybe put a twist on it. Some people just don't want to start threads because actually it can be quite hard work. There are many many reasons but what I will say is people really shouldn't feel put off from starting any thread, A lot of it has to do with expectation and why you are doing it.If it's for affirmation it might not go as you expect. |

I tend not to start them as I find the forums cliquey, full of people who seek to misinterpret, or just post vitriol due to being triggered. There's an alarming amount of uptight people within the 'community...
Sprinkle it with a healthy dose of white Knighting and there's the reasons.
