Probably miles away from home having cycled there, eaten a home made picnic and playing top trumps with lovely friends I am still friends with many years later. Very lucky in that respect they are awesome still! |

With grandparents in Scotland. Days of walking, playing on the shore, seal spotting, skimming, etc. Ending the day making a fire, cooking square sausage and beans in a billy can with marshmallows for afters as the sun went down. Then back home to the caravan, for a game of cards or dominos. |

"Probably falling out a tree
Ditto hahaha
Max
I don’t think there was a school year I didn’t go back after the holidays without a cast or broken bone "
As a former football and rugby league player, Black eyes and broken bones were the norm for me

Downhill biking was my biggest cause
That’s how I ended up in the trees to begin with
Always check the trail first folks |

My Nan was a caretaker of a school so we would go in there and get all the sports gear out, if raining then play on the indoor climbing frame or mess with the pottery wheel etc. Even dressing up in all the fancy dress costumes , the sweet shop and chippy were next door it was brill, other than that picnics at a lake, beach trips and generally running a muck |

Biking down the road to the local boatyard helping out with jobs, and getting to play with the boats, tractor crane great days. Oh not forgetting with the money I earned paid for my Yamaha Fizzy DX moped when I was older |

I’d have been roaming the fields and woodland around where I lived, as a youngster I wound be gone all day, as a teenager, I could be gone for several days living life as something like Ray Mears meets Lord of the Flies |

Probably setting fire to the sand dunes . Not on purpose. We were up at the crack of dawn and didn't go home until it was dark. The endless Lincolnshire beach on one side and the limitless countryside on the other gave us massive scope for mischief. Have BMX, will travel. The 80's were awesome dude. |

"Didn't we all have a much simpler than the youth of today!"
Our youth was a constant stream of toy adverts masquerading as kids cartoons, pondering white white dog poo was all about and a terrifying stream of PSA adverts ranging from being electrocuted at power stations to Darth Vader telling us how to cross the road (I wouldn't believe my Mum when she told me at the time lol)...
Poor kids today have social media, back to back news about how the worlds gonna implode any day now and global lockdowns.
Yeah, we had it way better.

When we were kids, my parents would pack me and my younger brother off to stay with our grandparents in Studland for the summer holidays. Granny would make us a picnic everyday and send us out the door to go hang out with all our cousins for the day. We'd go off up the heath, or to our camp in the woods, or even borrow our grandads binoculars and hide in the sand dunes spying on the nudist beach |

When we moved back to the UK I had dirt bikes and a 50cc road racing bike that I used to spend lots of time on. Also ending up in trouble. Playing football (pre season was always a killer). Playing rugby league. Ending up in hospital. Lol fun times
