I've been gripped by the Commonwealth games and I love multi sport events. I'm currently watching the mountain biking, it's something I would never normally see and I'm really enjoying it. Are you watching and is so have you discovered a new sport that you enjoy watching?

I also have got into the 3 × 3 basketball.

I like the boxing, swimming and athletics

The CWG though is not particularly prestigious. For athletics I’d say the European championships hold more weight than a commonwealth gold medal simply because of the countries involved and the level of competition

Not all that North of North London

I've got the weightlifting on in the background but other than that I've only watched the sports I'm personally invested in, triathlon and cycling.

The numbers in some events are so low because of the cap on participants that in think it's robbed some of the spectacle, just 9 runners in the 10000 metres, hardly any home nations in the marathon, it's not ideal...

The mountain biking was great to watch

I’m really disappointed. A fair bit of money has been spent on the mountain bike course at Cannock chase. So as a mountain biker myself, I thought great, all the mtb riders will benefit from this.

It turns out that all the newly built sections are to be removed and the forest returned to how it was.

Commonwealth games legacy my arse…..

I forgot it was on till I went for a drive and got stuck in traffic because of it.

Don't watch much normal TV, and I watch sport even less.

Course is there for a while afterwards and with a BC coach though?

Some of the course appeared to be on the permanent trails on Cannock Chase and Cannock Chase does have a huge amount of permanent cycling infrastructure and trails.

The Olympic Mountain bike venue is still there as a cycling centre with a mix of trails, but the Olympic course isn't there in it's entirety but I'd argue an international standard course that would be too technical for many is less of a legacy than a trail centre aimed at families and cyclists of all abilities

So all it will leave as a legacy is exactly what we had before.

Not the best legacy is it?

I'm not sure what legacy had been proposed? It's not like there are a huge number of new venues, the track cycling is in London, the athletics at a refurnished track, loads at the NEC, the hockey pitches are at the uni, I think the only new venue is the pool?

Are yiu annoyed at a lack of legacy that has never been promised?

I’ve been off work poorly for a few weeks so I’ve actually watched loads of it, the lawn bowls is very exciting, the mens badminton was down to the wire, the gymnastics has been out of this world!!

I’ve also enjoyed watching the para games alongside of the events.

It’s been a great watch so far well done all the babs!!

I don’t watch it but I seen the swimmer who’d had her leg amputated and still won gold. Absolutely inspiring.

We were told that people in the Birmingham/ midlands are would benefit from the commonwealth games legacy.

Lots of money spent in the are as you say, refurbing Alexander stadium, a new pool etc. also s good chunk of money spent at Cannock chase to build a temporary track. And another chunk to remove it.

The West Midlands combined authority mayor promised a legacy that will live on when all the games are over.

Like I said, thanks for nothing.

I'm volunteering at the netball all week so haven't caught much. It's so much fun being part of it.

I think they said they are just going to disassemble the rockier parts for safety after a while, the rest will stay as it was

Surely the sane applies to all sport?

It's just entertainment on a basic level isn't it?

by the big field

lap it up, as we'll be back to football, football- more bloody football and occasionally a spot of rugby & cricket in a couple of weeks.

Surely, the Beeb has noticed people are interested in more than the usual ball sports and they could certainly afford to screen some if they fuck off Linekar and use his exorbitant salary for something worth watching

Some people think that commonwealth medals don't mean anything compared to Olympic or world

But think these athletes would dispute that
