I was today quoted over £500pm to take a fixed plan as I am coming to the end of my current one even though I spent on average £95 pm last year accordingbto them. It was an interesting discussion needless to say and of course stayed on the variable hoping it will all settle after the October increase. I just could not believe that would expect me to jump my dd from £95pm to £510 pm |

We’re in £600 credit and they’re still trying to up our direct debit because they don’t want us to go into debt.
They don’t want to give us the £600 back though |

It's just a big mess. They did though offer for me to have my credit back but I didn't want it. I am keeping it as a safety net, especially as it gets interest |

We’re just upping our direct debit a little and staying on the variable until the credit runs out and reassessing when the time comes. |

"I suspect it's going to be a long, cold, expensive winter for many."
That’s gonna be here at Soze Manor.
Blankets, hats, gloves, huddling in the smallest room in the house, early to bed.

I've got a couple, get one with a bum flap tho for going to the loo, coz stripping off your cozy fleecey keepy warmies in a freezing cold bathroom is rather unpleasant indeed. |

A cold toilet seat is a lot more pleasant than a warm one though |

I wouldn’t tie in to a fixed term either. Staying on the variable makes most sense at the mo to me. The fixed plans are sky high and a lot can change in 12-24 months.
Even if the variable goes temporarily higher than the fixed tariff for a few months, it’s probably cheaper in the long run in these weird times, I reckon. |

Will the prices ever go down again??
I think the energy industry as a whole are a fucking bunch of crooks.
BP announced that their profits had tripled in the last year.
And yet prices still on the rise.
Even if you don't use much they still want to bump up prices.
No wonder they don't want to invest in cheaper renewable energy, they want to keep ripping us off.
Governments need to step in NOW and halt any further rises. |
