Has anybody here used violet wands in their play? I’m curious to find out what they feel like and if they are worth the cost. Also which do people prefer, mechanical or solid state ones and why?

I have one which is a beauty kit one, which I have run past friends who know about electrics and they say it is fine. It has worked well with people in play. I also have special rope that works with it.

You can pay well over £100 for a reconditioned gothic looking one with a certificate.

My suggestion would be to run the one you are thinking past someone who knows about electrics.

Also if you Google violet wands, there are helpful websites. I can't put a link but one with D v 8 in its name is very helpful.

Good luck

I think they also run a workshop or talk at the Manchester LAM if I’m not mistaken?

I tried one out at the BBB (Birmingham Bizarre Bizarre) and loved it.

The guy demoing had it a bit high occasionally, but on the lower settings... yes!

I'm sure there will be some form of kink event, or night at a club where someone will have one you can try.

Got one from LAM in London a few years ago.. An interesting piece of kit with varying degrees of success, good fun in the right hands.. But not for J. So need to sell it on

I've used the ones you can buy off Amazon on people. Didn't find them particularly effective. But maybe they're just not very strong

Tens machines were much more fun because you can stick the pads on and adjust the power/pattern of pulses

We've got one. They are great fun, I think ours came from a seller at BBB. We had both tried them previously to make sure we liked it before buying though because of the cost.

You can change the sensation and the strength with different attachments.

A carbon fibre feather, scratches and feels more intense than a standard contant.

Also, doing it through clothes, to make the distance the electricity jumps gives a much bigger kick.
