No, I love the gym and if I never had to eat again, it wouldn’t bother me

Very difficult but not impossible to work on diet. Harder to focus on exercising and knowing what to do that is beneficial instead of 'just looks good to do'. Can also be hard to push yourself beyond your comfort zone because of aching later...

It’s taken me 2 years to get the consistency I’ve wanted to achieve.

If I find myself slipping, I return to where it all began, and reapply all the habits that I’d formed in the early months. It’ll surprise you at how quickly you can return to discipline.

Also remember, that it’s ok to have a lapse. Recover from it and use it as a reminder to do what you’re supposed to be doing.

I find it quite easy to be consistent at the gym. I recently found myself slipping so I changed it up a bit and I’m back to enjoying it.

Food is another story. I’m great at staying on track through the working week when I have a routine but the weekend is a lot harder.

It’s tough for me unless I’m training for something in particular … when I’m in the zone I’m very strong willed. Then when the event is done it’s “pass me the cake”

I absolutely love it. I enjoy going to the gym and I enjoy making tasty healthy meals.

It do understand it can be difficult on some days in certain ways. What keeps me on track and motivated is the rewards, what you see in the mirror. It becomes what I call it “perpetual motivation.”

However you are trying to gain/lose/maintain just knuckle down and focus on what you need to do. And within a relatively short period of time you will see some results in the mirror.

Then the way I keep it going is, seeing the results and thinking this was 4 weeks work, picturing another 4 weeks and how much I’ll have improved after 8 and the cycle just keeps going…

yup. Even now when I need to loose the weight as they won't do a knee op till I do. ( despite the damage being bugger all to do with my weight )

I'm fine certain times of the year. But when work is really busy, I find it hard to keep motivated to work out. The healthy eating goes out the window when tired and stressed too.

Yes, which is why I don't bother.

Diets and excercise need to be a lifestyle change else they will never stick.

I've found other things I do that have become natural to me. The main thing was having water near me all the time, so I drink more of that and less cola. And portion control with food.l, so smaller portions, no more second helpings or clearing off my kids plates and trying to get more healthy things on that plate.

No actual diet. No calorie counting. Easy! But it's helped.

As I'm not on a diet, I also don't get the depressed feeling when you break it and feel you've failed (which then makes it even harder to get back on it).

Choose 1 thing to master, so that you can eventually get the other in synch. I do this with exercise, as I find that just making a single time and space for it to be simple. The knock on effects from successive regular exercise then pushes me to incorporate dietary changes. Give yourself the time that you need, to realise substantial jumps in your life. Less is more

Found a brilliant machine at the gym, it's got kit mats, Mars bars and all sorts in it.

Can’t put the gym off when it’s your home

Not all that North of North London

I'm struggling to find a new routine for when to attend the gym, my gym was opposite my office but ive changed job losing a lot of the convenience. But I still run and/or cycle most days.

Diet, all things on moderation, dint calorie count and rarely weigh myself. Focus is purely on visible fat levels as to whether I need to be stricter, I don't eat a lot of crap but don't worry about having treats either.

It's lifestyle for me, my mental health needs the benefits of exercise and exercise needs decent fuel. I can't stick to training plans at all

Yeah, I keep in track with it. Go to the gym on dedicated days and follow a set routine.

I'm also good with my diet. I meal prep for lunch and try and snack healthily. It goes a bit out the window at the weekend, but doesn't deter my overall progress

Gym I get bored with, so it's outdoors exercise. But work gets in the way a lot.

We don't diet, but we have xhamged the way we eat and have cut carbs right down for the most part. That's had a dramatic impact on our waistlines

Just a tad.

I applaud anyone who can do it constantly.

I've got an excuse to not use gym equipment, but I could swim if I can be bothered to shave my legs and bikini line.

I was thinking about getting a swim suit like Muslim women wear, so I don't have to shave.

I've all my gym equipment indoors.. Sometimes I think it's a bad idea because I lose motivation to lift weights, where I think I can start later today/night..

Its entirely possible to be a foodie without going to excess. Try going for better quality foods with higher satiety rather than volume.

This. Its being consistent enough for long enough that it becomes a habit, then a way of life.

Consistency is the most overlooked term with food/fitness. Everyone wants instant results/shortcuts/secret hacks. There aren't any.

I'm terrible, I try and go climbing three times a week (usually end up going once). I try and do lots of callisthenics/yoga along side that but usually forget or don't bother. My diet is basically non existent.

I don’t try to follow any diet or programs anymore and am happy with the results. I feel quite free of all that pressure.

I swim workout or lift purely because it feels good and is fun, I don’t even count reps or sets anymore and eat only what is good for me , mostly. Relapses are fewer since I stopped over thinking it
