About 7, in sunday school reading old father abraham and finding it horrific that a god would test someone like that. That was the beginning of me disbelieving |

When I was 6 at school one warm Thursday afternoon. My teacher, whom I loved having as my teacher, was rambling on about the story of the Walls of Jericho.
Up until then I just took the stories in the lessons as is. As kids do of course. But suddenly i literally jolted with a 'light bulb moment' and I realised all my teacher had told me were stories. It was to put it bluntly lies.
And it never left me and from that day I could always tell when someone was lying. Still can today. I've 'outed' many a fake profile on here for both my own and other's benefits.
Politicians canvassing on my doorstep is often a another 'classic' event shall we say.
But it all stems from that moment back in my classroom that afternoon. |

There's a multitude of anecdotal evidence disproving people's claims to know when people are lying.
Of course, there are some obvious clues, but noone has super powers, regardless of previous experience. |

"Where you have had a sudden radical change in attitude, perspective or belief?
"
Yes about 28 radical step change, having kids and going back to study but my attitude and perspective continually evolves anyway |

Fully agree, not claiming I'm infallible by any means. Nor do I have super-powers. but I do often (not always) get this 'hunch' sometimes when someone is telling porkies. Like I say its not all the time and I not always right. But I'm not often wrong. Why? No idea. |

Yes. I had been in a series of increasingly abusive relationships and realised if I didn't change I would end up dead.
It took a very long time and a lot of honest self-examination, but I changed and I'm in a very different place now.
The realisation that it was a pattern I was feeding into and not some mad coincidence was a very sudden and blinding revelation. |
