"I have a feel yesterday as my boobs felt a little tender... But I think i made them sore by checking IF they were sore "
Oh be careful, you should examine your boobs with the palm of your hand.
Check again in a day or so.

In remission for 6.5 years now for Hodgkins Lymphoma, and I fundraise for SU2C, cannot encourage people to check for anything out of the ordinary enough.
If something is strange get it checked. I know many people who put off checking cos they felt they would be wasting time.... some would have but importantly some weren't and would have caught things sooner. |

So so important. I lost my friend at 28 years old because she went to her GP (3 times!) as her nipples were leaking. She was told it’s normal in women or her age especially as she’d had children. She knew deep down it wasn’t right. A year later she was dead. If you have doubts get a second opinion too x. |

Awful. I was 28 too so a long time ago and things have improved I’m sure but the second opinion thing has always stuck with me. I even double check things with the pharmacist sometimes after seeing a GP x |

Sorry to hear this Nora.
And yes, definitely get a second opinion if you have any doubts. |

I wish things had changed! I heard story after story about people being misdiagnosed or told nothing was wrong in my role at a cancer charity |

"Also gents, you need to check breast area and armpits."
This is good advice, as I found an access this way.
I use to feel my ex wife. It's not only sexy, but as you're likely to be the one who notices any difference |

And if you really think deep down there’s something really wrong be persistent and ask for a second opinion if needed |

CoppaFeel! Is a great charity that is raising awareness about being body aware and knowing yourself. They promote “Check ‘em Tuesday”
You can also sign up for monthly reminders to ‘cop a feel’….the text reminders are free (I donate monthly to cover the cost of my free text)
It’s an amazing charity ran by an amazing woman Kris and her team. Kris has been living with secondary metastatic cancers since 2009 (and much more since)
Definitely worth a look guys and gals |

"I try to, but I do get paranoid that I’m not checking proper."
Honestly I would imagine that is a good sign, being paranoid means its more likely nothing is out of place.
If something were out of place you probably wouldn't feel paranoid.
Does that make any sense? |

I went to my GP once because I had reddish brown fluid leaking from my nipple and had an appointment for the breast clinic within 2 weeks; had a mammogram, an ultrasound and a sample of the fluid taken at one appointment, and was told it wasn't anything sinister (consultants words) but they want to remove the milk ducts.
I got my operation date for a few weeks later. From seeing my GP to having the operation was around 6 weeks. |

I was always put off getting mammograms as women said they were very painful.
It really wasn't as bad as I feared. It's definitely worth doing. My area has a mobile unit so it was really easy too.
