Swinging highs and lows

So I've just returned from the most amazing weekend in Blackpool where everything that went on was extra special.

But now I'm experiencing the worst comedown ever. Post fun blues maybe.

Does anyone else experience lows after a great swinging experience?

Get your next adventure organised , will give you that excitement of whats coming instead on focusing on what you had

That sounds a bit like chasing the dragon.

OP, have a wee rest today and then just enjoy the smile moments the memories give you until the next adventure

Yes. I've never had subdrop before (and I'm going to try my best to avoid that) but I definitely get a drop after intense brilliant experiences.

Honestly? Accept that it's happening. I'll normally make sure there's something else in the diary so if the drop hits bad I can say "right Meli, you've got this".

Dial up the self care to 13 - drink good food, food that brings you happiness. Healthy but delicious. Up the water intake, have a smoothie or even a bit of chocolate if you want it. Read something that can transport you to another land, a different time, brings a smile to your face. Watch romcoms. Musicals. Daft things that gently lift the depleted dopamine, reminds you it's okay. Get outside. Walk. Breathe. Bask in nature, the ever changing landscape, the simplicity and beauty to be found in it.

Think back on the memories and smile. Life is short and you've had some great experiences. Memories don't have to go on forever to be wonderful.

But most importantly?

It will pass.

And you'll have many more adventures to come.

Definitely. Sometimes I almost feel hungover after going to a club even though I don't drink when I do. Kind of mad really. It's worth it though.

Ah any time Op! It's a good time to check in with friends as well - I've already given a heads up to a girlfriend because she gets it and I won't feel embarrassed for not being high energy me.

Yes, I think there's often a comedown, endorphins can and do come at a cost

So a decent night's sleep and a good head wobble and the blues have passed.
