I think the universe undoubtedly exists. I'm not sure it's sentient or has the ability to give me what I ask for

I think it’s a balance of asking (setting the intention) and then working to it. However, the closer we go towards the intention obstacles move fast

Do you think that setting the intention motivates one to work towards the goal oneself and if achieved attributing it to the universe?

That’s a great question

I don’t really have the answer

What I can say for sure

Is I’ve witnessed some outstanding coincidences that can’t be a coincidence.

I believe we are here to learn, to share and to love.

I genuinely don't know the point of our existence. I do believe we should look inward for spirituality rather than outward.

I don't believe in fate.

We have choices and our choices have different outcomes that are not predestined.

If we are part of a bigger picture we'll never know, but again we have a choice - Do we believe that there is a bigger picture or not.

I totally agree with you.

The world around us is different to everyone, we all have unique perspectives.

How do you go inwards ?

I had friend who was into the Paranormal for years until his Mother died and he then he lost all belief.

You can read all the books you like on spirituality but it doesn't make you spiritual.

I do believe something exists beyond this world and just because I cannot see it with my own eyes doesn't mean it isn't there....

Ask a meditation teacher or spiritual guide.

I wasn’t looking for advice

I was just curious

But it’s a lovely reply

For me, the question of spirituality boils down to a question of free-will vs determinism. Unfortunately, science is way far away from answering the question. Until then, I will do my best and stay at peace with myself no matter what the outcome is.

Spirituality for me begins with knowing how to love and nurture yourself, to challenge our core beliefs keeping open to the universe

Genuine question, when you are asking, what or who are you asking?

If two people ask for something that is 180 degrees opposite of each other, which one does the universe side with?

Having seen the latest pictures from the newest space telescope, I'm conscious of how insignificant the earth is within the universe. Then when I think there are around 7 billion people just on this planet, I realise how insignificant I am.

I (and probably you) will be forgotten within about 3 generations. We will just be a gravestone and some records somewhere.

Taking all that into account, I don't think there is any universe listening to my intentions, be they good or bad and I am planning on enjoying my best life without thinking about any outside "magic" (not trying to sound rude, but I appreciate it might) coming to my aid at any point.

But I do like to reflect and think about how good life is sometimes on this tiny speck of rock spinning through space. It's good to be alive, here and now.

The questions are about me

Not the outside world

I can’t control that.

As an example I ask for more happiness and contentment

Manchester (she/her)

I meditate, but I don't get on well with all the spiritual stuff.

I intersect with some spiritual stuff in my work - at best I see it as a metaphor.

I look around in a medieval church (or other monument to any divinity). Some see the glory of God. I see the wonder of human imagination and ingenuity, and the reverberation of their intentions through the centuries.

It's wondrous, but it's entirely secular.

In fairness, the question wasn't about you at all. What you said was, "I was just wondering who here is like me and believes in the universe?"

The question was about others.

My question, which still stands, is who or what are you asking? Where are you asking for your more happiness and contentment? Who do you expect to deliver it for you?

I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm genuinely interested in your answer.
