Eastbourne (she/they)

Could be one of two things in my mind (opinions only)

1) Because there is a common misconception that blurs the difference between Sexuality and sexual acts a person may enjoy.

2) the same sense of entitlement and toxic masculinity that makes it so some men don't believe that women aren't interested and they are just playing hard to get.

Use your filters , that’ll stop Men from messaging you.

My profile clearly states no straight guys, so far from 10 messages today 7 are straight. The reason no one reads profiles. The text should be above the pictures.

People suggesting using the filters is of course an excellent solution and will work for many straight male profiles on here.

However, I often get involved with organising gangbangs which can necessitate me conversing with other males. Therefore I am reluctant to put the filters up. so its not for everyone sadly.

I find a polite or humorous 'no thanks' usually works in most cases. If not I just delete. They get the message soon enough.

.

Now as for answering the author's question I don't know. Are these guys hoping that some men are secretly bi but don't have their profile set as such for fear of putting off other potential suitors? Possibly, but you'd have to ask them.

My other thought is, as it is so hard on here for us single men, they just do 'scattergun' messaging in the hope one might bite.
