Had their first bird this morning , luckily I managed to wrestle it off them and its flown off ( probably slightly traumatised though )
My old cat used to bring in mice , voles , and she even had a frog once 
Any stories about what your cats have done?  |

Our cat has bought in a couple of mice but lazy and doesn't do it often.
She does however prefer my husband and thinks that he is her boyfriend! She will cuddle up with him in bed and sleep on my side and looks at me as if to say "I've got your pillow and your man what are you gonna do about it!" |

A Cat we took in during lockdown once brought in an empty bacon packet lol
She also brought moths and mice in.
Our boy brings in leaves and feathers or little black tags ,he's obsessed with them. |

A black cat we had called Mulder bought me a fish in once through the cat flap, it was massive. We were never sure if he got it from someones pond or from the chippy at the end of the road!
His sister Scully sat in front of me one day, opened her mouth and a butterfly flew out. It was a beautiful moment  |

I had an Ex who rang me from work on his lunch break to say...... He’d left mine in a hurry in the morning, assumed he had his sock twisted funny about his toes but trooped on uncomfortably till his break.

I was staying at a friend's house looking after her two cats while she was on holiday.
Early morning, one of the cats jumped onto the bed, in my sleepy state I gave it some pets, thought it felt strange, looked down to realise I has been petting a dead rat the cat dumped on the bed |

One bought in a screaming frog, one demolished a pigeon on the front garden and filled the whole street with feathers and all that was left was its ribcage and head. One used to nick weird, random objects from the neighbours. One used to sit on the fence and take the piss out of a neighbours dog. One pissed in front of us, in the living room, to let us know he had a water infection. One used to like running up to a particular friend and swiping at him, her sister used to sit behind him and lick his head |

Had a horrible smell in our kitchen one summer I took all the sink waste apart deep cleaned everything , washed bin out threw away potatoes in case one off. Smell worse next day last result pulled all the machines out, last one we found a dead mouse that the cat had caught and hid. |

My fat old lady cat, jabba, used to bring in earth worms, moths, daddy long legs but never any mice or other little animals.
She did bring a bengal cat home once and he refused to leave.
It’s odd I’ve spotted this thread as I’m cat sitting my ex brother in laws kitten, jabba isn’t too fussed but the little one is certainly feisty. |

My cat brings in mice and the occasional bird. All alive and running around/flying if they can. She once even brought in a baby (not fledging) Gold Finch, stolen straight from the nest. It only had its adults wing feathers so a call to the SSPCA so it could be hand reared as I had no idea where it came from or what tree. She doesn’t do this very often. The last bird was a man adult Great Tit |

My old cat caught a toad, I was watching her through the kitchen window, there she was pleased as punch walking down the garden path, toad in her mouth when the toad must have released something in her mouth, she spat the toad out retched and ran for the water bucket to rinse her mouth out.

A family cat we had years ago once brought in. Wood Pigeon through the cat flap, might have had a struggle as there was some feathers in it. It was very much alive & flying about in my friends bedroom |

I have two cats, both Bengal/Siamese cross but unrelated. The younger one, Coco can be a hunter at times and brings me frogs, mice and tiny birds.
I was away from home a couple of months ago and had a couple pet sitting for me. The wife sent me a little video on WhatsApp to tell me the cats had found a little mouse and brought it in.
It was alive and both cats had cornered it in the living room but weren’t attacking it. There was a buzzing noise on the video and I looked at it again and enlarged the picture to check the mouse was ok.
It was tiny and a sandy brown colour - but it had a funny long nose.
It wasn’t like any mouse I had seen before so I Googled it.
It was a Shrew and what I read filled me with alarm. They aren’t mice and have little channels in their teeth that dispense anaesthetic into anything they catch. This means that their prey can be safely left for a few hours immobile and returned to be eaten later. Their fur is also toxic to anything that licks it.
Luckily the husband managed to scoop it up unharmed and put it back in the countryside. |

My cat is bloody lazy these days. I heard a rustling in the garden yesterday evening. The cat was sat on my car calmly looking down. Then I watch two huge rats run across the yard and watched the cat sit there doing nothing about them and just watching with indifference. Lazy git.
BTW first time I've ever seen rats so that's a concern (especially with my cat proving a useless deterrent). I wonder if building work down the street as disturbed them. |

One of my cats caught a young rabbit, not a baby, brought it indoors and the other (who couldn’t catch a cold let alone anything else) mugged her and was growling in the hall, with it still alive, hanging there by the scruff of its neck, in his jaws. She was screaming at him to give it back. I took it off both of them and let it go in the garden. |

Had everything from birds rats sea gulls to rabbits but worsts was a blokes prized racing pigeon. I had to call him and give him the bad news. He turned up and I gave what was left in a show box. He was greatful we bothered to contact him. |

Had a cat bring a mouse in one night close to midnight. It let go and the mouse ran off and found its way under the flooring. To retrieve the dinky critter we had to pull up the flooring piece by piece until we could get it.
The cat just sat and watched as if we were crazy people.
Was past 1am by the time we got to bed.

Yes it may have disturbed them but also the lack of rain everywhere means that animals are more visible as they are all desperate for drinking water.
One year when I returned to Sussex after the summer in France my toilet had been leaking a little from the base. The plumber discovered the plastic flexible pipe inside had been chewed by something so that it could access under the bath. Yuk yuk yuk! |

My sister many years ago were mangers of a post office / newsagents . Near a farm. I was there one day when door rang. Door was open as summer. Saw male standing there . He calmly asked . Can I have our chicken back . Called my sister . She knew him. He then repeated about chicken. Their cat had caught a chicken on farm , carried back home . We found cat and a very angry chicken in living room. Bloody cat bit me when I pick chicken up . |

My mate stays on a croft and is used to the cats bringing in various wildlife. Nothing, however tops her having one bring in a rat which it then sat and ate, at her feet, whilst she was on a works video call. She had to explain what was happening to excuse the noises which the others on the call could hear … haha |

When we lived in a more urban area our cat came home with a roast chicken. It was early Sunday afternoon, the chicken had had the breast meat cut off, but still lots left and the meat was still warm. The little fecker had stolen someone’s Sunday roast. |

Long ago! One of my cats who was very daring snuck in a neibours house and ate a chicken dinner left on side for their daughter! The dad (sat in lounge) could here the plate chinking from cats collar tag and thought omg the daughter washing up her plate that's a first! X |

I got a call at work from my 12yo daughter to say her cat had got a rabbit in the front room and her and her friend had shut the door. Rushed home from work to find a headless rabbit with only one front paw, blood spatter up the wall and a rather stuffed looking cat.
While I was cleaning it all up I suddenly had the epiphany that it wasn’t my cat, wasn’t my house and wasn’t my wall and carpet I was cleaning. My daughter hadn’t been able to get hold of her mum(whose house it was) so had called me and I rushed back to do the Dad thing…… |
