Do you have a favourite advert?
A conversation had just reminded me of the Mr Soft advert. I made my mum tape it for me as a kid and I used to watch it over and over.

There was a Carling Black Label ad many years ago. It was centred around cowboys and took up the whole commercial break. It was only shown a handful of times.
I believe it's on YouTube now. |

Where you have to sit through 2 ads before you can watch it... |

"Um-Bongo!"
Agreed.
My not-so-cunning ruse to stay up later as a child was to plead that I could stay up to 'watch the adverts', guaranteeing myself a good extra 5 mins standing in the living room doorway before being shuttled upstairs... |

I prefer trailers for movies or video games.
The ones for the Transformers War for Cybertron series still give me goose bumps when Metroplex and Grimlock rock up.
Fuck it going to watch them again now |

Lots of favourites, mostly older ones though. The one that intrigued me in most recent years was the kitchen roll one, bounty I believe. How they used to get away with the whole "Juan shit" thing |

...oh this just poked my brain with the whole taping adverts
I remember me and my friends taping the old Nike advert, the one in hell or Greece or some mad bollocks, so we could learn all the moves and recreate it down the park.
And everyone would argue over who got to be Cantona for it, so they could be all cool and flick their collar and launch the ball into the stream at the end.
Except me. I was never Cantona; I was always Patrick Kluivert because the Ajax kit was ace and I fancied Patrick Kluivert at the time.

I do vividly remember the Playstation advert with the very weird looking Scottish girl on about 'Positive Mental Energy'- turns out she was actually quite pretty and it was just the director, music video genius Chris Cunningham (Come to daddy, windowlicker, come on my selector) fucking about in post production |

I like the Castelmaine 4x ad where they are loading up a truck with cans and the suspension gives out when they put the drinks for the Sheilas on:
"I think we overdid it with the sherry" |
