I'm pretty sure that we have all had a terrible experience with alcohol that made us say "I will never drink again"

So what was the beverage that tried to kill you? For me it was vodka. Still can't bear it

Guinness with double vodkas poured in.

We were 15 and bunked a day off school and I knew a shop we'd get served at.

I honestly thought my mum was gonna kill me!

abruzzo Italy (and UK)

In Preston, where I grew up, back in the 80’s there was a really rough bar called Addisons which sold what they labelled as Australian white wine, but this stuff was nothing like any wine I’ve seen since, god knows what this stuff was but it had a really (awful) distinctive smell that I can still bring to mind 40 years later and made me so hideously ill on my 18th birthday that I probably had alcohol poisoning, and I have vague flashes of having collapsed in a back alley at some point in the night on my way home, but don’t remember much else. I think if I ever actually smell that stuff again I would vomit on the spot.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I've never been ill through alcohol. The worst has been a standard headachey hangover. I wonder if it will all come together one day in one almighty explosion.

When I was younger, vodka did tend to lead to inappropriate behaviour. I seem to have that under control now. These days I allow it a little relaxation of my inhibition but that's about it.

K cider. I’m not and never have been a drinker, but one Hogmanay I thought why not…… I was reminded the next day why not….. only had 3 of the 4 bottles…. After that I drank Budweiser but nothing ever got me d*unk again, don’t see the point now, though I do occasionally like a Malibu & pineapple and I also liked the limited edition Pimms but that’s no more

I pebble dashed a poor lady's bathroom with this evil concoction.

I still feel ashamed today.

I met het in the pub an older American lady named Electra so I knew I was probably in for a good night.

Only to get back to her place go to the toilet then proceeded to throw up EVERYWHERE!!

never said a word just crept out of the front door and ran.

Never saw her ever again that was almost 40 years ago.

Tequila shots on my 18th birthday. Was sick in my sleep and had a two day hangover. I had a job interview the next day too which I went along too but was too ill to finish. Never drank it since and can’t stand the smell.

Somewhere in Co. Down

I don't really drink anymore I can't stand the tiredness the following day.

The only drink that have gave me bad hangovers is Bacardi breezer's and all I have to do is have just one and I am really hungover the next day. It's the cause of the 2 hangovers I have had in my life. One of those times I only had one and no other alcohol and I was so ill the following day. I haven't touched it since.

R posted hers already.

When I did drink, I would get a soup pot and pour everything and anything into and well after a while it got the better of me rather than me getting the better of it. Now I can even stomach a sip of any booze.

the middle

Jack Daniel’s, I necked three quarters of a bottle in one go one Christmas at a football do.

I blacked out in the street but luckily we were just getting to my mates house. Some how they got me in and on the sofa.

Woke up about 3 the next afternoon. By the time I had been home and got showered and changed everyone in the pub knew so when I got in there about half 4 they had a double JD waiting for me on the bar.
