I am really particular about my tea and coffee so when I go to someone's house I would rather make it myself
Are you fussy about your hot beverages or do you take it as it comes?
For anyone wondering...tea is no sugar, small drop of milk and leave the bag in (sign of a psycho)- coffee is strong, tiny amount of milk, one heaped sugar. |

I try and avoid other making either tea or coffee for me.
Tea, by preference, should be somewhere in the Earl Grey to Lady Grey spectrum and currently my preference is for a supermarket brand Marquess Grey. Hot but not quiet boiling water so around 97°C run over the bag into the mug and then allowed to infuse for about a minute with agitation. This gives a light extraction with delicate flavour.
My coffee making is even more obsesive and involves roasting, aging, grinding and use of a hand pumped espresso machine. |
