How do you take your tea?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

I am really particular about my tea and coffee so when I go to someone's house I would rather make it myself

Are you fussy about your hot beverages or do you take it as it comes?

For anyone wondering...tea is no sugar, small drop of milk and leave the bag in (sign of a psycho)- coffee is strong, tiny amount of milk, one heaped sugar.

My nan’s spare room.

A Julie Andrews for me, aka white nun, as opposed to a Whooping Goldberg aka black nun or a Mary Poppins with a spoonful of sugar.

With so many different people making tea at work I just take it as it comes but when I make it myself it has to be fairly strong not too much milk and no sugar.

Yeah I'm quite particular about how I like my hot drinks. I like tea strong enough to stand the spoon in and I like the coffee blended with milk prior to hot water. No sugar in either

Both tea and coffee with a little bit of milk in them. No sugar.

I tried coffee with a syrup and thought it tasted horrific.

I try and avoid other making either tea or coffee for me.

Tea, by preference, should be somewhere in the Earl Grey to Lady Grey spectrum and currently my preference is for a supermarket brand Marquess Grey. Hot but not quiet boiling water so around 97°C run over the bag into the mug and then allowed to infuse for about a minute with agitation. This gives a light extraction with delicate flavour.

My coffee making is even more obsesive and involves roasting, aging, grinding and use of a hand pumped espresso machine.
