Why do women always lie to their friends?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Has a woman ever actually told the truth when their friend asks them a question about their new haircut, new dress, new wallpaper they’ve just hung, does my bum look big, do you like my new nails?
In my 46 years on this planet I’ve never EVER heard a women say ‘No Shiela, I don’t like your haircut it’s shit’ or ‘I’d never go to that nail salon as long as I’ve got a hole in my arse’ or even better ‘yes, yes your arse does look big’
So why? Why do you do it ladies?

When a woman tells you that your boobs are too big and not under your chin to go braless in a crop top to a social, instead suggesting the dress that hoiks them up. That's real friendship. |

No, I don't lie to my friends. We tell eachother straight if something doesn't look good although with a bit more tact. Why would you lie to someone if something really didn't suit them? Surely your better off helping to find something that does?

I NEVER lie to a friend. If they ask for my opinion, they know I'm going to give it honestly. Yes I can butter it up and give it tactfully, but the message is always clear and honest. I don't actually think I have any friends who need the constant reassurance of a 'yes woman' type chum, so it's never been an issue. |

I do, my friends do it to me too. We couldn’t let each other walk around looking like a dick…mostly because we couldn’t keep a straight face if it made us laugh. That kind of brutal honesty is true friendship love. |

"Nope. Lie all the time cos don't want to upset them as i know they do to me. Thats true friendship
I rest my case "
It's definitely a biasing factor but I read some honest stuff above.. Jesus, I work with a lesbian who is brutally honest with everyone (irrespective of position or gender) but in a weirdly good way.. and everyone loves her for it, me included. |

I'd wanna know so I tell my friends my honest opinion in a police way. If they do something I think is harsh, I might choose to not tell them my opinion if they are raw, or tell them but also support them. Or tell them later not in the moment. If they do something stupid, I'll laugh then tell them
Think people please more in their teens/early 20s though, or if they are insecure &/or 'need' the friend... |
