I don't even look at the subject message you get a bit of the message before opening it and that usually tells me how it's going to go .... hi how are you .... lol so I don't open just go straight to profile see if any effort has at least been made there ... and if not it's a delete x |

If it's come direct from a forum thread I've posted to, I guarantee a reply.
Otherwise, a quick squiz of the profile and the first line of the message determines whether it's an immediate delete, read and delete, or read and mark unread for later attention. |

I was friends with a girl who was good at playing the hot photos game and very popular on Fab. She’d get a ridiculous number of messages and would have needed a PA to reply to all of them. On a road trip we decided to answer as many as possible.
There was one crappy, copy and paste list of about 30 questions from a guy who was nothing special. We wrote really thorough answers to them all.
Then the guy replies with a one sentence response *shrug* |

I know Woody and I wouldn’t. I think if you make the message in a slightly semi joking taking the piss kind of way then you have more chance rather than being overly complementary.
That’s my experience anyway. |

lately I delete anything entitled 'wow'.
I'm more inclined to open and respond to messages like ' morning stroll/walk in park or adventure type stuff' .... |

There’s no right or wrong answer to these questions. What you and I would do is different and also different to everyone else.
And depending what mood I’m in.

I normally refer to something they mention in their profile, and something I'll mention in the message to help show I've read it.
No idea if it helps, but it's got to be better than 'Hi' hasn't it? |

I keep meaning to ensure the preview shows something interesting, but I really struggle with not starting a first message in a polite way, so it would always say something like "Hi Claire, hope your evening is going well...", which obviously isn't the most intriguing.  |
