"Of bands I could and should have seen I'm still not sure how I never saw Sonic Youth or Fugazi. "Fleetwood Mac but I’m afraid that ship has sailed now " Saw them at Isle of Wight Festival 7 years ago. They were awesome!
| |||
"System of a Down is still on the To-Do list but the chances grow slimmer and slimmer " Rumours they are playing Download next year. Seen them once very good
"I would absolutely love to see Shakira naked " Me too......me too. A
"Eminem at his peak. I don’t really like his new stuff or the way his voice has changed so although it would still be amazing it wouldn’t be the same." Saw him in 2001 still doing his chainsaw thing. He was ok but we didn’t watch the whole show but with D12, on the same day, it’s brilliant!
"Rory,saw him twice,blistering guitarist." I'm quite envious.
| |||
"Iron Maiden" They're fantastic live!

"Queen Iron maiden Guns n roses" … I saw Guns and Roses live many many years ago, they were great
| |||

"Wether still going or not .. Personally for me I've not yet seen RHCP live yet or Pink !! What's your choices ?? " I've seen RHCP a few times. 2003 at Hyde Park was the best imo. I'd love to have seen Johnny Cash, had tickets to MJ's o2 dates.
"Bon Scott fronted Ac/Dc. " Same here, most of the bands mention on here I've seen

"I'm either cursed or I keep killing people In the last 10 years I had plans for Stevie Wonder (cancelled) Brian Wilson (postponed to promote Love & Mercy film- then cancelled) Toots & the Maytals (Went ahead without Toots- who then died not long after) Rolling Stones (Charlie died) ZZ Top (Dusty died) I also worked on gigs for Motorhead Linkin Park Prodigy Prince Depeche Mode Meatloaf Status Quo Prince Leonard Cohen The Charlatans None of the above escaped without casualties, so if you're a musician- might be best to keep your distance " 11 years today since Amy Winehouse died. You got Prince in there twice

"The three bands I want to see most that I haven't seen yet are: W.E.T. Eclipse Nightwish I will be most disappointed if I never see those three. Historically it's Rory Gallagher." Seen Nightwish with all three singers. Tarje had crap stage prescence, Anette just didnt have the vocal ability, Floor is definitely the best, live anyway.

She's very one dimensional and wooden on stage from the videos I've seen. Annette was fantastic in the studio. Floor is simply incredible, especially when Marco was singing backup.

"U2 Coldplay " Two bands I'm glad I haven't seen
"Bon Scott Was lucky enough to see AC/DC with Bon in Nov 79 ( i say see, but I was a short ass 15 years old - so hear ! ) Row G Hammersmith Odrin. I guess I saw him when he strode by with Angus on his shoulders " I bet that was awesome Loved Hammy O as a venue
"Van Halen, had tickets to see them in 92 but the date clashed with something I couldn’t get out of so I just figured I’d catch them again sometime. They rarely travelled to the U.K. after that and never did get to see them live" I saw them every time they came to the UK from 1984 onwards. I saw them in Ft Lauderdale on the reunion tour with Dave too. They were awful. The greatest rock band ever were just a has-been nostalgia act.

Was too young to see Joy Division or The Smiths and I would have loved to have seen I was lucky enough to see both a few times, in fact the first time I saw Joy Division they were supporting The Smith's!" Was too young to see Joy Division or The Smiths and I would have loved to have seen I was lucky enough to see both a few times, in fact the first time I saw Joy Division they were supporting The Smith's!" How did you manage that? Joy Division finished before The Smiths existed surely?

"Queen Pantera RATM and before someone says Pantera are touring next year it will be a poor shadow of its former self. " Great choices, and agree, it's not Pantera without Dimebag and Vinnie Paul

I guess I saw him when he strode by with Angus on his shoulders I bet that was awesome Loved Hammy O as a venue" Can't reply privately - but although long time ago, loud, frenzied and lots of headbanging! Couple of years later I stopped the latter so I could see the bands. Hammy O great venue. Motorhead Bomber tour another great night - Classic line up
"This isn't meant as a humble brag, but this thread makes me feel lucky (the best gigs thread recently did too for similar reasons) I've been to a lot of gigs, at one time 2 or 3 a week and I feel so lucky to have seen so many of the bands and singers mentioned on this thread. Mind you, I've also seen Razorlight so yo know my gig history has had it's low points too!" To be fair first album Razorlight were pretty good live, it's when they did shite like America I gave up.

"Steel panther With all the fun going on Seems something worthwhile to visit live " Always a great array of boobs around too.

Made me feel a bit sad I don't get to many anymore.

Was too young to see Joy Division or The Smiths and I would have loved to have seen I was lucky enough to see both a few times, in fact the first time I saw Joy Division they were supporting The Smith's!" I don't want to be that guy, but I'm a big fan of both of these bands and this can't be possibly true. You're either very much mistaken or you're blatantly lying. Joy Division ceased to exist as Joy Division after Ian Curtis' suicide in May 1980. Johnny Marr was only 16 at this time and The Smiths formed in 1982. Joy Division went on to become New Order, and in 1982, New Order released Blue Monday, an absolute huge hit. The Smiths released their first album in 1984. Now you may be confusing Joy Division with New Order, but for New Order to support The Smiths, although not impossible, probably very unlikely, seeing they were a huge band in their own right. Also Joy Division and New Order were musically pretty different, so quite difficult to confuse each other with, I would have thought. Are you sure you're thinking of Joy Division?

Gotta love a music nerd, I love it when people swear they've seen bands or gigs when factually it's impossible
"Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie" I've been to way in excess of a 1000 gigs and NIN are one of my top five- it just has the most intense atmosphere where a 15000 audience gig feels like its 150 people in a small underground private club- very hard to describe it accurately but make sure you go and see them if you can

Actually you are right, it was the Buzzcocks NOT the Smiths! I saw both at Guildford Civic Hall. Joy Division supported the Buzzcocks on the 1st November 1979 and James supported the Smiths on the 28th February 1985. And yes, I know all about New Order, I saw them at Brighton Jenkinsons and Reading University in 1981. It was a genuine mistake NOT a blatant lie!!!!

"AC/DC with Bon Scott Sensational Alex Harvey Band (With Alex) I’ve seen later iterations of these. Every Time I Die, had tickets but missed out on these twice, now disbanded." And Genesis with PG, I saw them at MK Bowl in 1982? For the Six of the Best one off, but that gig was beset with problems and I’d like to have seen them at their pomp.

Of course I know the difference the difference between the Smiths and the Buzzcocks, those gigs were about 40 years ago!!!! Stop being so patronising. You suggested I might be blatantly lying without even bothering to find out from me whether I'd misremembered something that happened over 40 years ago. It's really offensive to accuse someone of lying when they aren't. Ironic that you list bad manners, self entitlement and arrogance as your profile dislikes, take a look in the mirror sometime!
"George Michael " saw him 3 times one of those times I was in the golden circle right at the front it was amazing

"Tears for Fears Bit late now - Michael Jackson If only he died later in life - Elvis Presley" I saw MJ twice At Wembley he was amazing (Dangerous tour), but at Don Valley he was crap, clearly lip syncing and forgetting words to many of the songs and very preoccupied with the kids on stage (History tour).
"Queen, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, The Eagles... there is so many great bands and artists out there... I try to see as many as I can... Live music is the best..." went to see queen 5 times in the 70s and 80s. Big fan. Amazing x

"I’ve not saw Bon Jovi yet. Wish I’d went when they were doing the Slippery When Wet tour." Bon Jovi were the first hand I saw live. 'Keep the Faith' Tour 1994. And I that's when I discovered that Wembley Arena is a shit venue. I've seen Chris Cornell live. With Audios*lave and solo. But never get to witness Soundgarden live.

Okay fair enough. I do apologise, you're right, I jumped the gun and made an unfair assumption. I genuinely didn't mean to offend and the tone of my initial post was definitely off. I should have approached it differently. I have mild autism, which means I like facts and figures, hence being a stickler for accuracy, but it also means I can be quite blunt sometimes. "Elvis, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Tony Joe White, David Bowie and Jerry Reed. Bring on the holagram concerts. I think they are all working on it. It’s the future." We went to see the Abba show on Sunday, absolutely jaw dropping. I think it is the future but the technology involved is going to make it very expensive so I think it will only be a very few artists that can sustain a king run of shows (Abba are going on until 2024 I think). I can see Any Winehouse and Michael Jackson being done, the Beatles in the Sgt Pepper era would be good too.
"Slipknot, System of a down and Rammstein Those are probably the three I need to see. So wasn't sure what to expect but it's one of the best gigs I've ever seen
