Ones with a stretchy elastic panel down the length of them or probably a better option, ones with a lace or buckles up the back to be adjusted to your shape.

I have lace up thigh boots that can be adjusted to fit different leg sizes. Got them off Ebay. |

I am wearing a pair in one of my pics. They were bought from ebay many years ago.
The lace up front/back style may be a good idea as you can adjust them to suit your leg comfort.

No, you just loosen them and not fully undo the laces. Plus they have a zip on the inside ankle which makes it easy to get on your foot too.
