I like extremely skinny, which isn't really the definition of fit. However I'm not about to turn down a hit gym fit lad or a dad bod viking type. It's a cliché but personality goes a long way. |

It seems its more about the height of a body on here if I'm honest. I recon I see..
'MUST BE TALL' or '6ft PLUS' listed in the criteria of about 80% of profiles I read.
Aswell as TATTOO'D
I get the appeal but the average height of a UK male is 5'8". But average doesn't cut it on here. Lol

"So this is an interesting one
So why are so many larger chaps like myself left on the shelf ? "
There’s many reasons people don’t get meets, it’s not limited to body size. |

And I'd understand you'd prefer a taller guy. you're 6 inches taller than the average female. Lol. Buy when all the 4'0" girls are specifying it as an essential criteria. It makes no sense that it is preferable to every other attribute or characteristic that a shorter guy may possess. |

I’m actually 8 inches taller than the average female lol the average is 5ft3 (according to ONS).
I guess it’s like any preference really, some short girls love men that tower over them. |

I’ve always gone on the body but as I’ve got older I’ve realised that it doesn’t matter what body someone has as long as it isn’t too overweight I’m fine with it! |

I've never quite figured out exactly what a "dad bod" really is. I figured I've probably got one but it seems to be quite an arbitrary concept, no two people agree on it!
I'll probably just stick to being a "Big lump" |

I do prefer a man more equal in height to me. Most of my ex boyfriends have been less than 5'8" and skinny. Maybe I do have a type after all. |

"It's more about how he carries himself, his style, language and how he treats me
If he's experienced in the sex stuff too he's a keeper "
You find none of that out until you meet someone though. When you decide to reply to a message I bet its based on how he looks. Attraction is still paramount. Anyone that says it isn't is just well.... Lying |

I can find some of it out beforehand, the language he uses in his profile and messages, his style of photos and how he treats me...the rest, I agree, is an in person experience |

"What do you girls want xxx
Rach xxx"
A face I find attractive attached to a personality I find attractive, that makes the body just as attractive, no matter the body type... A beautiful body isn't enough |

As if to prove the point I made earlier, here come a load of big ol' bags of muscle declaring themselves to have "Dad Bods"! How is anyone supposed to categorise themselves with this kind of ambiguity. |

"Fit person with a soft belly but strong thighs"
Same. I don’t like a six pack or that v groin muscle (don’t know what it’s called) personally.
I love tall guys, 6ft is perfect.
When I spot him, I’ll know |

I think you're selling yourself short Amazing body...
So a mum bod is not a very good one?
No. Any body is a good body. Yours is no exception "
I also think all body's can be attractive, even if not to everyone... Mine is a gran bod |

"I find women are put off by my fit body "
I'm not as fit as you mate, and a number of ladies have said that they were intimidated by my fitness and didn't want to contact me because they thought I wouldn't be interested.
Shame!
I can only be me though. |

James here, I try to look after myself, but wouldn't want to be one of those guys who spends way too much time in the gym.
I do weights at home, and try to do more on my legs, as men lose there bums as they get older.

Mine changes with beer. That old ‘beer gut’ was exactly that with me. |

I don't even drink as much now, I can't take the tired feeling or the 3 day hangovers. |

I’ve put appeals out on television to find my bum. No luck yet. |

Both please!!
Seriously though as much as I love looking at gym fit guys I struggle to believe that they would be attracted to me and my 'very squashy' mum bod. So if we are solely basing it on body shape I am more likely to go for Dad bod as they may be more likely to accept my body as it is.

I don’t abuse my body with drugs or alcohol, but I don’t exercise. However I would still say I look after my body.
I won’t apologise for being fat, or use some bullshit excuse about how I could do more or don’t want to spend too much time in the gym.
If you enjoy the gym/exercise good for you. If you don’t, good for you.
If you are too occupied with what a person looks like, we aren’t compatible anyway |

"I think we need to define Dad bod. I am a Dad and I have a bod, lol"
Indeed, I too am a Dad with a bod, and (they tell me) fairly fit for my age.. I’ve simply learned the best bit of any bod is between the ears |

"I often believe a greater percentage of ladies are attracted to dad bods rather than fit and this increases with age.
"
I am attracted to decent people with faces I like... Body type would not sway me if I disliked either of those |

"I just like bods, fit, dad, gym...whatever as long as there is attraction, chemistry etc "
Same for me with a woman. She can be twice my bodyweight, as long as there's chemistry, that's beauty for me. |

Dad bod: what’s really important is not what you look like, but rather how it impacts your health and well-being. Having a large surplus will mean high levels of visceral fat (it’s the stuff that will cover internal organs and clog arteries. I’m in a relationship with someone who is 52, and he is lean and he is fit. Yeah he looks great, but more importantly I don’t have to worry that he will end up with type 2 diabetes, or have a stroke and is unable to speak or walk, or die of a heat attack, so I don’t understand when people say they like a man with a belly, if it was someone i cared about I would encourage them to lose weight, because i don’t want to see him housebound in a wheelchair. I’m also 52, and to me it’s about being responsibile |
