That's very good of you. Whenever I see someone's dog shit on the path and they forget to pick it up I follow them home and pop it through their letter box to save them coming back out to get it . |

"I take it and throw it away so the person doesn’t have to pay
What similar random acts of kindness do you do for strangers? "
This is a myopic action, although you probably don't see it that way for the aforementioned reason.
When the car owner doesn't pay the fixed penalty on time, their fine is doubled because the vrn vehicle registration number has been recorded by the traffic warden.
In Ireland your mischief would be dealt with differently; ignored, stolen or mislaid tickets from one jurisdiction cannot be enforced on the other side of the border.
Toll charges are dealt with differently, and their are no toll charges in northern Ireland to be collected! |

I know it is!
In Belfast and other northern Irish towns and cities, tickets that have been futilely affixed to vehicles with southern registered plates litter the streets. It's a joke-a waste of time! |

True story
Many years ago when there was parking meters I saw a traffic warden standing next to a car and meter waiting for it to expire and I put 50p in the meter so it had another 1hr.
The warden was pissed off, I told him it was Uncles car..didnt know whos car it was though.

"I. managed to collect 3 parking tickets last week . on the third one I asked the traffic warden if I get a gold badge for 4th one he will give me
the humour was not appreciated by them "
I get them all the time . If you pay within 14 days it’s only £35 which is very good value to park right outside your favourite restaurant all day in a city centre. Not everyone knows this but you can’t get a second one for at least 24 hours, so in many cases it’s much cheaper than a car park |

You do realise that FON follow up is all done electronically and not ‘receiving’ the ticket doesn’t stop you having to pay. In fact it probably costs the recipient more because they miss the opportunity to pay a reduced charge for early payment. |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
My neighbour left his windows open the other day, so I climbed in and moved all his electronics into my house in case it rained in through the window.
I keep phoning him to let him know, but then the phone rings here which distracts me. |

Making it worse for the driver. If they pay early, they get a reduced fine in Glasgow. If they don't know until they get a follow up, it's the full fine. Parking Attendants take a photo when a ticket is issued, to show it on the vehicle.
Please don't do any more "favours". |

Next door are fervent churchgoers, so when there's anything sweary on a TV channel, I play music to drown it out for them so that they don't hear anything they wouldn't like.
In these days of on demand TV, though, it's a round the clock task... |

I've actually had someone do that to me. I wasn't impressed with a £100 fine rather than the £25 I should have got. |

If you have a dash cam that is always on you can dispute them. My camera caught someone doing that and my ticket was cancelled after disputing it and evidence I never knew I had a ticket |

I did appeal but it wasn't upheld due to me having no evidence. I did deserve the initial ticket as my wheels were over the lines of a disabled parking space which I thought would be ok as it was midnight when I parked there. |

And how many people don't read all the comments and skip to posting on the OP original comment. If they read the thread, they would have seen the multiple confirmation posts that it was indeed a joke. |

"I continually drive down bus lanes so I get fined. I like to think I am contributing to the local authority. "
Very topical. Within the last couple of hours I have paid a reduced penalty for entering a buses, taxis and cycles only road after getting totally confused in a Lewisham that I no longer recognised when I had to re-route following total closure of the South Circular.
I U-tuned and exited within seconds of realising my mistake but the camera obviously didn't see that or I would have got done twice!
Now I'm thinking I might as well have continued and got my money's worth! |
