I have a work colleague who has the annoying habit of calling to ask me things when “he/they” are only a few mins away, the signal is pretty poor in my area of Devon and the provider isn’t the best, 9 times out on 10 it’s something that could easily wait until they get here but it happens so much, just wish “He/they” would stop as it’s a waste of his and my time having a conversation that breaks up most of the time.

Why do you keep saying he/they?

Just don't answer the phone to them...

I'd try this ....

Answer the call, ask if he's there, repeat it.

Mutter to yourself that the signal is terrible and hang up.

Do that a few times and I imagine the calls will stop.

That’s the point of these threads, pity you seem to of missed that, was intended as a tool to draw out other silly “SILLY” annoying things, emphasis on “not” important, if you can’t actually contribute something other than a pointless comment and waste your time doing it then fair enough but I would like to believe you have better things to do with your time than troll on here

"Which gender pronoun does your colleague prefer ?"

He prefers he but I was trying to generalise it, apologies if I messed that up, been so long since I was in school I think I have forgotten how to write things properly, my piss poor English used to annoy a ex of mine who was a teacher lol

You would imagine this would be the case but no lol, this is why it’s silly, a repeated trait of his

I think everyone missed that because you didn't say anything about other people sharing in your OP.

If it tends to be a certain time of day, put your phone on airplane mode for a short time.

Or during the call, press airplane mode, it'll end the call and if he tries calling back, it won't ring.

Just remember to switch it back.

Obvious to you perhaps, but we're not mind readers. Your OP reads as just complaining about a colleague.

Let me think what annoys me.

Housework. Why do we even need to do it? It's not like we get a trophy at the end of the day for best vacuuming, or neatest stack of laundry.
