"IMHO, he is a lot more talented than majority of the winners of reality TV shows.
Is that a kind way of saying he is shite?"
.
No, as I believe he has talent. |

Uuuuuhm, I think he has quite a good voice but is a bit of a one-trick pony. It won't be long before someone comes along, works him out and bursts his Buble.
Oh no, that's terrible even for me.
*Slopes off in shame.

I am a big rat Pack fan, and I find him a poor imitation of those Crooners who had real talent.
I dont mind him singing his own stuff, but wished he would leave the American Song Book alone...
I guess to me he sounds a bit too Joe Longthorne |

Much as I like the original versions, I do like to hear new versions of the oldies from time to time.
However, if anyone touches Witchcraft, then I'll bite his head off, as no one does it better than Frank Sinatra, IMHO!
Did you see the Rat Pack show? Highly recommended if it comes your way.

"Indeed a matter of taste. Quantity does not equate to quality! "
So correct quantity does not equate to quality, I just read that Sinatra sold more than Martin it was a long time ago that I read it was the other way round and it may have been correct at the time I realy dont know but I will stand by your statement |

I love her "All I Want This Christmas Is You" though, probably the only song I like of hers.

No one can sing Sway and That's Amore better than Dean Martin.
Likewise, no one can sing Fly Me To The Moon, Witchcraft, Come Fly With Me etc. etc. (I can go on, and on) better than Frank Sinatra, IMHO, of course.
And yes, Dean Martin is very handsome, and I cannot say the same thing about Frank Sinatra.
They can both serenade me into doing anything for them for certain! |

Faux-jazz shite...has no one apart from me ever noticed the weird speech impediment he has when he sings as well, almost like a lisp but not quite.
I really can't stand him...you may have noticed ! |

The last few years has produced a good number of 'Rat Pack' wannabes and i think more through personality and a wide ranging appeal to women, he has got farther than the others.
I can see why he is successful, but just so you are all aware, I would prefer something else for Christmas other than Michael Buble tickets.
Thank You |

"Probably just a coincidence, but most of the anti Buble posts are from men!..just saying"
So, let me redress the balance and say that from my viewpoint, Michael Buble is far above a lot of the other "so called talent" around these days.
However, each to their own; I enjoy his style, in just the same way as Jamie Cullum! |

"Probably just a coincidence, but most of the anti Buble posts are from men!..just saying"
which leads to the next 2 threads.
1. Are women tone deaf?
2. Just so long as a man is famous and wears a tuxedo, does it matter if he is a jug earred ugly git? Eg. Michael Bubble and Daniel Craig |

I think even by doing covers and making songs current and fresh he is keeping rat pack alive for upcoming generations who would never have wanted to listen to it before. |

Or turns them away from giving the true greats a listen, as they may think Dino and Frank will sound like muzak too? |

The green eyed monster is a deeply unattractive companion!!"
because, of course, we can't have less than positive opinions of other men without them being jealous or envious comments
ok, i can't sing
ok, i can't wear a dark suit without looking like odd job (or a light one without looking like tattoo off fantasy island for that matter)
ok, i don't have women fawning all over me
but, but, but, but, here's the thing :

Have to admit to being a huge fan of Sinatra and being very, very lucky to see him at the Albert hall and he filled the whole auditorium. I think that the songs and the period, the gangsters, mafia,, cars, suits all belong together. The songs may stand alone but are richer for their context. When someone as plastic ally produced as Robbin Williams or buble singing mack the knife appears wrong. Buble is a pastiche, in circumstances they are really enjoyable like buggy Malone others will grate after a while. Would it not be greater for a singer to sing about and define their generations like the jam, happy Mondays, blur. Is it just me or is there little to say of this generation? |

I have honestly never heard one of his songs. He doesn't appear on any of the radio stations I listen to and I'm fortunate enough that he hasn't appeared on any telly shows I've watched either.

Micky Bubble is OK, he is better sticking to his own music though.
When he covers Rat Pack stuff it's an inferior imitation, if you really need to listen to someone imitate these classics Harry Connick Junior is far superior. |

Sure, he's talented, he'll appeal to some and not to others.
He's better singer than I am, but I bet I can drink more beer and eat more chips than he can |

He's Canadian, isn't he? He may be able to match you.
Harry Connick Jr over Buble for me but I always love the originals. |
