"Men in cowboy boots. Western shirts too. This needs to make a come back. Line dancing optional"
My (Mr's) cowboy boots are the most comfy footwear I own, always wear them to clubs, our generally being "out" |

"Do you do or like anything that’s generally frowned upon ? Pineapple on Pizza ? Marmite ? Milk in tea before the tea bag ? What are your weird and wonderful passions ?"
I love all these things!
I’ll eat anything cold out of the tin …. In fact, I’ll eat pretty much anything! |

This is my spiritual home
Mash peas and gravy sandwich.
Hot sauce on everything!
Drinking coffee with a straw.
Putting food colouring in things just to have different colour food
Cereal only days
I should stop before no one ever talks to me again |

"Milk first in coffee anyone who puts water in first "
Isn't that the correct way so the boiling water doesn't scold the coffee?
I remember hearing somewhere that coffee should be done at 80 not 100. |

People are scared of scolding their roasted coffee (usually between 188 and 282deg C), the hotter the water the more bitter the taste, coffee is bitter by nature, just don't pour the water straight after it's boiled |

OK weirdest thing though is peanut butter and cucumber sandwiches.
The sweet, salty, creamy, crunchy peanut butter, with the crisp, fresh and snappy cucumber. Little bit of salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
Put it on a nice bit of oat bread too, om nom nom nom nom. |

I like my steak properly rare. But the cow has to have been dead for a while before the steak reaches my teeth!
Maybe we could have a steak to keep our strength up when we take the motorhome trip? |

The tea would have to still be hot for me to consider this!! I think this might be a hard limit actually |

Was just about to say this but apparently you can use boiling water for lighter roasts which doesn't make that much of a difference |

"All this medium meat cooking with blood pissing out it's gross (cannabist) raw if not cooked thoroughly "
It's not blood per se, the cow would have been hung for 21 days (optimum time) therefore drained of blood. The liquid that then juices from the meat is water from being frozen or added mixing with the pigment of the meat/flesh |

"People are scared of scolding their roasted coffee (usually between 188 and 282deg C) ..."
If be scared if you were trying to get water to 282deg C. The pressure involved would be terrifying.
Coffee made with proper freshly ground beans requires water at 80-85deg C. Anything higher will scald the beans. But if you're using instant coffee it doesn't matter, you can't burn that stuff. |

"It's name is myoglobin. Protein that comes from the muscle. "
Couldn't remember its name or exact details, was very long ago had a business lunch with a guy of which his family ran a (cow) farm, they had just conducted an experiment eating from 1 to 30 day hung meat, apparently the shorter the period the more of an acquired taste it is. |

Not the water being 282 deg c, the beans are roasted between 188-282 before being sold to the consumer. |

It's funny how you keep reading these and going "oh yeah, this, definitely this"
Is it bad to sneak a few when cooking, chef's privilege surely. |

Love:
Olives
Anchovies, especially the paste.
Extra strong Marmite, yes it's a thing in a black label on a black jar.
Chat grilled well done steak (already mentioned)
Salami
Mackerel
Raw onions and extra mature cheddar cheese sandwiches with Branson pickle.
Do not like cheese and onion crisps, yuck.
Hate rhubarb in any form, just typing it gives me shivers.
Hate cooked spinach.

"Cold custard! Yum! "
I love cold custard, but can't eat it now withought laughing.
A ladyfriend of mine heard "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd, and misheard the lyrics, thinking they were singing
"Did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold CUSTARD for change? |
