So we work, for money that pays the bills we have created for our selves, and other stuff 
But my question is, what is your ambition? Do you still have a desire to pursue something you’ve not yet reached? A job? A lifestyle?
Let’s talk about the stuff that really drives you and makes you want it.  |

Me - it’s all about a new start. New home and new career and new social life etc. that’s starting to become something I want to create. |

I've never been ambitious or driven. My only aim in life was to earn enough to keep a roof over my family's heads and pay the bills. I've achieved that but it took its toll.
I removed most of the stress by taking a lower paid job which I enjoy and my only ambition is to stay healthy. |

I’ve been really fortunate to through my career to work in roles that have really got under my skin. Where they’ve become passions more than roles.
Love what I’m doing now, if I won the lottery I think I’d still do what I do. I’m lucky |

I now say ‘ I just want to be happy’.
Choosing a job to be happy is much more appealing than money and stress. |

At the moment my ambition is to get my kids to adulthood with good mental health and strong self-esteem. One is autistic and struggles with anxiety and self-doubt and needs an awful lot of support from me, his dad and step-mum. I'll think about goals for myself when he's less dependant. It'll probably be moving out of town and back to the countryside. |

No, fell into my current career by accident and found myself bound to that path by needing to earn what I did to make ends meet, and life circumstances meant I was never able to follow any passions.
Life is changing for me now. I've found something I'm passionate about and I'm working hard to redirect my career into that arena. Will take a while yet, and may depend on some currently uncertain things happening in the timescale I'd like.
But the important thing is that I've finally found a career goal after 35 years, and I'm working toward it.  |

I have the best of both worlds. One job where I get to nurture, educate inspire and be creative and one where I get to dress sexy, flirt, meet new people and have fun. I have a couple of long arse days in the week but looking forward to the summer holidays.
Like "Realitybites" said. As long as the bills are paid and there's a roof over my head all is good. |

Retired young and spend my days in Spain playing golf and looking for Ms Right. No regrets as I’d worked hard for 30 years to get this lifestyle..I had a target and went for it. It’s a cliché but if I can do it anyone can |

No ambition, no drive. I feel like I died years ago and my corpse just keeps on rolling. Can't settle on a job, no passion for anything inside or outside of work, just... Angry. |

I was a mum/housewife for the past 18yrs. I’ve now just completed the first year of a three years Masters to become a counsellor. Loving doing something for myself (and others) after so long  .
Wish we had a bit more time and money to sort the house and garden out though, I feel the state of them really gets me down and affects how I feel about life x |

I'm nearly there... last day at work in September, then off to a new town, new home, new job and a new life with a man who completes me To say I'm excited is an understatement!

Growing up watching Jacques Cousteau on TV, I new the world needed more marine biologists. Unfortunately after I qualified there wasn't much call for them in Birmingham in the 1980s
Was a call for people to work in IT though, being realistic it's been way more profitable than marine biology would have been...and I still can go scuba diving. |

Career wise it’s a bit static.
But relationship wise, we have started a new life which we keep expanding on and making it more exciting. In vanilla and kinky world - there’s a lot we’ve done and there’s a lot to look forward to.

I'd love to return to postgrad study - it would be my very happy place, Utopia of sorts. But I'm also quite happy with where I am now and how things are progressing for me in various areas of my life. I'm getting to where I want to be and very much enjoying the adventure along the way. |

Not really....
I have gone to get a qualification in what I have always wanted to do. In the future it could help me to get a grant if associations are still doing them.
Now I have to do something different to look after a family member. They are no.1.
Plenty of time to do what I want later. I keep my hand in, in new skills & think of other ways to do something someone hasn't thought of.  |

No, sadly not enough capital to quit my job and do what I want, and to attempt to retrain while working would massively disrupt the work/life balance we have managed to achieve |

We have as close to the lifestyle we want within the constraints of our means and current circumstances. It happened almost accidentally. We were mid/late 50s, financially in a very bad place due partly to some of our bad decisions and circumstances beyond our control e.g. multiple redundancies and neither of us found our jobs remotely satisfying. One day we just threw in the towel, decided to downsize, buy a doer upper in an area we'd promised ourselves we'd retire to one day and give up working altogether. We had the best fun doing the bulk of the renovation work ourselves, all our financial worries ceased, we had no timetable it was lovely. Covid clipped our wings obviously, we have a fixed, limited income and we still have things we want to make better and achieve but as far as possible we're where we want to be. We very often look at each other and say how lucky we are. . |

I am doing exactly what i want to do, I'm retired, i retired early because my vanilla job was making me ill. I'm lucky that my other half is happy and able to finacially support me plus a close family relative left me some money.
I'm now able to spend more time with my family (some of it anyway) and i don't have the physical and mental health problems i had while in work.
I do still do my non vanilla job once a week |

I love my job, I love the construction of sentences, paragraphs and documents, I love getting down to the nitty gritty of my clients lives, dealing with their private client needs as they journey through life and I like unravelling the mess of their lives when the time comes. I like dealing with the people engaged by “the other side” when things get gnarly and I enjoy engaging with my colleagues. I am not sure there’s much about my job that I don’t enjoy |

I'm very lucky, I don't have a job, I have a hobby, and my hobby is my job. Whilst sitting on my balcony looking at the sun shimmering over the bay, with my toast and coffee phoning round my men to see that things are going according to plan, the next job was to phone my company head office to speak to them on some matters. Now I'm looking at fab answering messages from friends old and new, before I get my mum up and about and seen to, in order to keep her out of care home which would cost around £1,500 a week. Then I'll decide what I'm doing with the rest of the day. I don't think that it gets much better than that, unless I'm missing something of course. |

Given up to be honest, it’s hard when you have bills mortgages kids and so on, to walk away from a average paid job to retrain be happy, also I’m shit with change, kind of had to accept this is it unfortunately, long hours and just willing for the weekend x |

currently I am doing exactly what I want to be doing.
Going to eureka and spending much o the time in the beautiful unheated water (around 21C).
Furthermore, I am not adapting my routine to accommodate girl friends who aren't able to come there with me for the entire day! |

I work in a swinging club, booking people in, putting on the sauna etc, making tea, laundry, cleaning, chatting it does include answering the phone lol |
