Has anyone got a DVLA licence renewal years before it's due

Not sure if rules have changed but I've got s licence renewal form. When i checked the date on my licence, it's years away!

Ah!... Right, looks a right clart on. They said they can use the pic on my passport, but that's 9 years old lol.

We used our passport pictures which are around three years old. The difference between our old licence photos and the new ones is frightening

Could be that, the O.P. is too young for the 3 year licence whick kicks in at the age of 70 and requires renewal every 3 years therafter.
