Windows and curtains closed during the day, open at night
Drinking lots of water (in the fridge/freezer), cutting back on caffeine, no alcohol.
Minimising physical activity
Staying indoors. If going outdoors, seeking shade (plus sunscreen, hat, and long sleeves and trousers)
No hot food
Computers and television off
Fan
Sleeping under a flat sheet, no duvet
Wet flannel on the back of my neck is a move I haven't used yet, but I will. |

I’ve not tried the flannel yet. Sounds a good idea. |

It's fine at home but do you have A/C in work.
I'm not too bad, A/C in most areas but driving to and from work is a nightmare, putting towels on steering wheel so I can touch it when driving.
Never seen so many people in the sea today, still cold.

I remember burning my fingers to the point of welts on the seatbelt buckle when I was a kid |

Have the fan on at night pointing towards me. I have a spray bottle (like the ones you buy for cleaning) filled with water. Every so often a few sprays in the direction of the fan and I get a cool misty breeze blown back. The air feels cooler then
Wring out a soaking cold wet towel and use it at night when it gets too hot.
Tempted to but a standing AC unit but how often will I actually use it in the UK :/ |
