Is an account on Twitter anti plastic lawn. I’ve struggled with the popularity of these in recent years. Understand in a few cases.
But at least I know my turf lawn won’t reach the sweltering sticky heat of your average sterile plastic back yard over the next few days.. |

We have a small back garden that used to be turfed. The dogs trashed it. So we decked some of it, paved some of it and put a patch of fake grass down.
It's never frozen, melted or caused any problems. Yes it gets hot in direct sunlight. Just like the grass used to, the concrete slabs do and the decking does......

It does indeed.
But bare mud doesn't. If you have a lush, green lawn then of course that is preferable.
But if you have less grass than bare soil, then that soil will bake, go rick hard....and become fucking hot to stand on.
I don't agree with ripping up turf for no reason but artifical grass has its uses, especially in small gardens and urban areas.
We live in the middle of butt fuck nowhere surrounded by fields and countryside. I don't think a 2x2m patch of AstroTurf is going to upset the local ecosystem that much.
