"I'm paying £130 a month for sky and sports etc . People keep recommending firestick anyone use them ?"
I used to use a firestick untill I bought a PS4 as a media centre.
The firestick I had is an older generation and it got sluggish when it had been on for a while. It also didnt have the best developed apps.
From my experience with it, sky, PS4 and chromecast, the chromecast is my favourite |

"Might be worth looking a Sky's baby brother NOW. A scaled down package with a monthly rolling contract that has no tie in. Just pay for what you watch when you want it."
Oh dear. My ex whatever he was left his now stick thing here. Found it couple of weeks ago and, erm, well used it. I've not put in any bank stuff though. Shit.. |

We have a firestick and Netflix & Disney+. We pay less than £20 per month and we are more than happy. We wouldn't return to Sky, left 10 years ago.

Give sky a call and try and get a better deal…
Mention that you could use a firestick streaming service for a fraction of the cost…
How much sky do you actually watch ?
£130 a month seems an extraordinary amount |

I’ve been paying for sky for years. 80 a month. I’ve just had a firestick and knocked it down to 19 as I’m still in contract for a few months. I wouldn’t go back to paying the full whack |

Dumped sky years ago and don't miss its overpriced rubbish output, most of which is gree to air also. Bought a freesat box, have streaming services as and when required.
All4, ITV Hub and IPlayer and have far too much to watch given we'd rather be out than sat in front of a TV |

I'm sure op means getting the chipped firestick, not getting it to pay for Now TV etc. Friend of mine has one and it certainly has its perks. Another alternative is to get good friends to give you their logins and let them fit the bill for all the streaming services.
When I paid for Sky I'd cancel it totally until it was actually gone and they come with a winback offer of 60% off and a big bill credit to entice you. Don't take their 1st offer. Let it totally expire |

I have a Firestick.
I bought my sister, my parents and Nelly one. You can have as much or as little as you want and you can cancel any of your subscriptions at your leisure without paying a penalty. If you're a bit tech savvy you can sideload Kodi or similar and get all your sky channels and just about any movie you can think of for free too |

Now TV, no need for a box or anything if you don’t want to pay extra. £9.99 a month for Entertainment channels including Sky One and box sets, £9.99 a month for movies. It’s Sports that eats up the cost, just under £40 for sports package I think…clearly I don’t have one or I’d tell you the actual price
Still all together £70 cheaper than a Sky box and package. |

Sounds like you've not called them up at that price. Sky are actually quite good at doing deals. Just call them up and tell them 130 is far too much and you're going to have to cancel.
Look around at the new subscriber offers and rival packages so you can say so and so is offering this etc. |

Have Sky but use an IPTV on a firestick In one of the rooms. Got hooked up by a bloke on here actually.
Im sure eventually Sky & Virgin will find a way around all their users cancelling their TV subs and using IPTV but until then crack on |

I was paying the same but, you have to be hard nosed to do this, cancel sky. They will ring you. I got this down to £68 for 18mths. That's tv Inc sports and movies, broadband and phone. They even included Netflix
When you try and cancel they will try to do a deal but if you are not happy with that, cancel and hold your nerve they will ring you
I have just bought a firestick for the bedroom and I like it so far but not sky |

After what SKY did to ITV digital and Canal Plus, Virgin and many more competitors, I have little sympathy. |

I cancelled Sky a few years ago. Got sick of £90 a month.
Got an Amazon Firestick and added an IPTV app. £60 for the year. You can watch literally anything you want. Sport, movies, pay per view stuff...there's more porn than you could ever wish for too |
