I'm assuming this is an insult given the use of the word cunt, but I've been told I sound like:
'a right chippy cunt'
To me a chippy is either:
Somewhere you buy fish and chips
Or
A theatrical carpenter
I'm neither so I don't actually know what they meant. Anyone able to enlighten me?
If you don't know either... What's your go-to insult? |

"Its also slang for prostitute.
So, whoever said it, fuck them right off "
Oh I never knew that! I have indeed fucked them off.
I mean they aren't wrong. I am open on the forums that I was such a lady while at uni.
But that fucker didn't know that I suspect and meant it as an insult. |

Its a pretty base way to say lippy.
So you've probably had to temerity to be smarter and more articulate than the recipient.
I'd block, delete and move on.
Good Luck OP. |

Definitely an insult.
In this context chippy is related to a chip on your shoulder. Synonyms are: resentful, bitter, angry or a combination.

In Lancashire it means something slightly different although we are splitting hairs here..so apologies for being pedantic and it has no effect on the overall outcome of this guy being a dousche.
We used it instead of “chipper” as in you’re saying to much. “Your a chipper cunt”.. we drop the “r” as part of the dialect and often stick a “y” instead.. hence chippy…
Typical Lancashire |

It's only an insult in the way it's said - could be you just nailed a point and they didn't want to hear it or you were talking a bit and they are riight northern replying. It's pretty tatty either way. |

Cocker is a term of endearment local to these parts. Or 'cock'. E.g. y'reet cock? |

"I like cockwomble as an insult "
Do you know the bloke in my office at work? That's what me and my work bestie refer to him as!
Actually, this week he's been upgraded from "Cockwomble" to "Proper Cunt" |
