Check out reviews of all the latest handsets and if there really isn't anything significantly different then don't bother.

No it's still the iPhone so get the 5.

I work for a mobile network and have every device given to me by manufacturers so I speak from a neutral position

The galaxy S3 beats iphones without doubt its an awesome phone better screen and I believe better processor I could be wrong but either way its better than the iphone 5 oh and cheaper. It can interact with other phones and technology easier with things like bluetooth ect... Also downloading music and apps I found much quicker plus the biggy is NO ITUNES. But then again I'm against any apple products, very overrated in my opinion

i have a sony ericsson xperia arc,it's fantastic.

sony have a new phone out, that's what i'll be getting.they work on the android system,so most apps are free.

the camera's crystal clear,12 mega pixel.it has a 32gb memory.

though to be honest, the i phone is by far superior,in one department, the marketing department.

so if you don't have to be part of the flock, try the sony.

if not,happy grazing baaaaaa.

Got an S3. Took me a couple of days to get used to the size of the screen compared to my previous HTC phone, but now I love it.

Really can't fault it and got it for a very good price compared to what I would have had to have paid for the Apple equivalent.

I got a samsung galaxy s almost 2 years ago and loved it but then J got an iphone and they are just soo much more user friendly.

My upgrade is due in december and I am going to get a 4s - the deals on them are really good at the minute - tesco was doing one for £100 up front and then £5 a month for 500 mins, 5000 texts and 1gb data - unfortunately they have sold out xx

Wouldn't you be better just changing to a sim only deal then and keeping your 4? Or taking the upgrade and selling the 5? My son has a 3s and a sim only deal is only 7.50 a month and we have it capped but he's never went anywhere near his limit x

There are still a few phones with keypads, which I prefer, and I've got one that's part touch screen, but proper sized keypad as well. I just prefer texting this way, and don't get along with full touch screens.

If you're upgrading, consider any cashback you might be able to get from the likes of quidco etc - though this might mean swapping networks or suppliers.

I read reviews on GSM arena, which is impartial and very detailed.

Good luck!

I've just gone from my 4 to the 4s - I don't like the 5 and most of the stuff the 4s does anyway and sold my 2 year old 4 on eBay for £200!!!

I looked at the galaxy which looks great but the guy at the shop said if I like apple then I'd be chucking the galaxy at his head within 2 days demanding an iPhone lol so I stuck with what I like

Personally I like my windows phone, it's awesome and haven't found anything that the iPhone can do and mine can't.

I've got the Nokia lumia 800, think there is a 900 and 920 just out. The 920 is very big, but both have windows 8.

02,,kept reminding me to upgrade,,went into a glasgow 02 shop, said my signal was poor at home,,salesman checked coverage and was good and honest enough to say, "yes where you are,we have poor coverage, try a diffrent network".

Now have the samsung SIII, great screen, too big to hold comfortably, and texting is hard work!!

Have you tried using Swype? It's brilliant... you don't type words by pressing individual keys, you just swipe your finger across the screen touching each letter but without lifting your finger, and it somehow works out which word you meant.

I can type... er Swype so quickly now it's brilliant.

Newcastle and Gateshead

the general rule of thumb at the moment is this....

if you have a Iphone and like it... there is not enough better or simpler as you have gotten use to it to swap to a samsumg....

if you have a samsung and like it... there is not enough better or simpler as you have gotten use to ot swap to a Iphone....

the 5 is slightly larger but thinner and light... the general consensus again is if you have a 3g,3gs or 4... then upgrade to a 5..... if you have a 4s... you may as well stay with it...

Unless you have teeny weeny little hands then you'll still be able to navigate the IPhone 5 with one thumb and no have need for a stylus!

Explain what it does better?

Can you still make calls, text, use apps, take pics/video, Skype, whatsapp, surf, get email, play games/music, carry in a shirt picket if you want, stays charged for about 24hrs?

So what's better?

Are those things vital? I have a 15 year old Nokia 6310i and it does everything I need of it and every so often I find something new which I didn't know it did until then.

Wifi connectivity as follows:

Wi-Fi is for connectivity options such as Mobile Link for transferring images from the camera to a smart phone, Remote Viewfinder which will show you previews of images on your smart phone and allows you to capture pictures remotely, Social Sharing for uploading pictures to websites, Email, Cloud, Auto Backup for transferring images to a computer and TV Link for playing back images on a TV. The latter option requires the TV to be connected to the router you're using the Wi-Fi through
