Do you take sugar with that?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I went to make myself a coffee and almost added sugar. I do love sugar in my coffee.
Instead I opted for sweetners!
I gave up sugar ages ago but I could so easily give up giving up.
Do you take sugar in your drinks or avoid sugar as much as possible?
What else have you given up that you really enjoy?
Or do you do you just think sod it...I like and I'm going to have it? |

I think I drink so much coffee that I'm desensitised to the caffeine.
Does it affect you really badly? |

"I have honey, when possible, in my tea... Occasionally it will be sugar but never sweetners, I avoid those more than I avoid sugar and that's as much as possible "
I've never liked sweeteners until I tried silver spoon sweeteners. If I can't have them then I just have sugarless coffee.
I've tried honey in my coffee but I didn't get on with it. |

"I don't asd sugar apart from on rare occasions when I feel like I need it. Maybe after a long hike in the rain or if I'm unwell. "
I get that...if I'm really flagging then I've been know to add sugar. I try not to though. |

I hate sugar in hot drinks, but I do have a massive sweet tooth. I've given up sugar several times and I always feel so much better for it. More energy, less anxiety, no more brain fog, and I lose weight. Then someone will have a birthday, I see the cake, I eat the cake, then I'm back to daily mini binges of sugary deliciousness. |

"No sugar or milk in my coffee.
I stopped sugar and most fizzy drinks as well years ago after having internal bleeding due to excess acid in my stomach. "
I don't think I could manage black coffee.
Still...needs must I suppose. Your stomache problem sounds like it was pretty bad! |

That's interesting...the brain fog! I've never heard of sugar having such an affect!
It is so easy to slip back into old ways. I fight that struggle daily |

"I'm Tate & Lyle friendly.
I was too and in doing so must have had at least 20 spoons a day!
That's a lot of sugar.
How much do you have in a cuppa and do you have many hot drinks?"
I drink a lot of tea but I don't have sugar in tea. I just have a spoonful every now and then to help the medicine go down. |

Sweetners are worse for you than sugar, that's why I try and avoid them, aswell as my mum having some kind of alergy, of sorts, to them and I can always taste them n I hate it... Sugarless syrup ruined a Starbucks for me, I actually couldn't drink it |

Ah I think you can get away with a spoonful here and there |

"I love my strong coffee, absolutely no sugar in either tea or coffee,I’m also a Diet Coke drinker,or plenty of water when thirsty "
If I'm out and about I'll always have a flat white, no sugar and enjoy it. But at home I struggle with the temptress that is sugar.
I really should drink more water.

I don't add sugar to any drinks. I do have sugar for when friends who like sugar in their drinks visit.
A friend is a beekeeper regularly gives me jars of honey. I add that to porridge and to a hot toddy. |

"No sugar or sweeteners, never have
KM
What you've never had you don't miss do you.
I blame my mom for my sugar addiction
Back in the day they used to put sugar in babies bottles!"
When I say "never have" I mean as an adult |

Desensitized?
Yes, it does. Awful head pains, like cluster migraines. Vomiting. Inability to see out of one eye. It's not caffeine specifically but it can trigger it so... yeah. No sugar bar honey in fresh lemon and ginger tea. |

"I don't have sugar with my coffee, I just drink good coffee
I don't drink especially good coffee, just the usual jar stuff...whatevers on offer..I do so love the taste and smell of good coffee"
It's one of life's little pleasures, I used to have milk and sugar when I first started drinking coffee and would never have thought I would have it without until I tried it |

Bloody hell that sounds awful and so not worth risking it.
I have had some really bad migraines, fortunately not caffeine related.
Desensitised, as in coffee doesn't keep me awake if I drink it before bed. I don't get a boost in energy from it. |

It tastes great. I love watching the process from making the frames the bees make the honey on, to extracting and jarring the honey, to eating it |

I'd say non-instant. Whole bean, freshly ground. I quite like it medium roasted but tastes vary |

And there you have it...my coffee is just instant.
I should probably invest in a coffee maker. I remember the old percolators...I enjoyed that coffee |

"Depends on the coffee. Some I'll have sugar as the coffee is so nasty
I can't drink a really bad cup of coffee.
Do you remember coffee with chicory?
OMG that was so bad!"
I don't remember that
Do you remember the strong coffee you could either buy in a jar, or self heating? Rocket Fuel I think it was called. They did make it a milder taste after many years. That could strip paint |
