We don't get scraps here, I didn't know what they were til I was down in Northumberland a while back. Now I wish they did them here!!

I can still get mine for free. The fella that owns my local chippy, has done since I was in high school, and always gave us a bag if we popped in at lunchtimes. He’s a local legend!

Scraps are the off cuts of the fish then covered in batter. More of a Northern thing. Had the when visiting St Helens. Yummy ??

Stop the no scraps shaming. We can't all have scraps, there wouldn't be enough to go around. Therefore leave those that don't alone because we don't want them to feel shamed into taking scraps they don't actually want to our detriment.

That might be the case where you are but for the rest of us scraps are the bits of batter that separate out when the fish is dropped into the hot fat.

If you have to pay for them you’re being ripped off!

Has to be Haddock too not Cod

This, hence the term scraps, never pay fir them my way either, always Haddock over Cod…
