When you get new shoes, do you keep them pristine for as long as possible or are you excited to get them muddied up?

I'm going trail running this weekend. Going to get my new trainers filthy and I can't wait.

I try and keep mine as pristine and clean as long as possible

Nice new trainers!

How strange I went to get new trainers today and the ones I wanted, they hadn’t got in my size

Usually get trainers and especially work boots muddy straight away, best dress shoes I haven't bought any for years

Turning up to a trail run with clean trainers is terribly amateurish...

I can't wait to wear mine. Not to get them muddied up, but because I know I'd look fly as fuck

It'll be fine. First puddle I see, I'll be in.

I hate cleaning shoes but with trail running mud just comes with the territory. I need to buy new trainers, too. My old ones are disintegrating.

I only buy second hand shoes and boots. I love car boot sale bargains and cannot justify paying £150 for Dr Martens. Also they are broken in and cut down on heel blisters.

Depends on the item entirely, shoes or boots for hiking or exercise, thats just proof of use.

Vintage trainers, they are coddled and puddle hopped, and God forbid I scuff the mirror shine on my boots.

That's rare in trail shoes - hour they're comfy.

Indeed, much better in an old OMM jacket patched with gaffer tape and shoes with at least one hole in.
