Had insomnia all of my adult life . I can fall asleep very easily but staying asleep is the problem. I probably average about 4hrs a night

I suffer now and then. And 2 -4 hrs max is the norm.

But yes, 2hrs sounds like insomnia.

I currently do well now getting a good 6hrs…. Just throwing that in as a boast.

I used to suffer with it untill about 2yrs ago untill I found out about CBD oil. Tried a few before settling for Charlotte's Webb full spectrum CBD oil. Takes a week or two of daily doses to work to its full potential but my oh my what a difference.

For the record I'm not awake now due to insomnia for those wondering. Just back from holiday and still trying to catch up with normal time.

Not a popular opinion, but coming on here at silly o clock in the morning is not a great idea, at least it wasn't for me.

I have done 2am to 5am chatting, perving and once in a while meeting but it's really easy to get into a bad sleep routine and it really fucks you up!

Once in a while is good but every night isn't so great.

Good luck with your sleep folks!!

I can't get no sleep

I can't get no sleep

I need to sleep, I can't get no sleep

Deep in the bosom of the gentle night

Is when I search for the light

Pick up my pen and start to write

I struggle and fight dark forces in the clear moonlight

Without fear

Insomnia

I can't get no sleep

I can't get no sleep

I used to worry, thought I was going mad in a hurry

Gettin' stressed, makin' excess mess in darkness

No electricity, something's all over me, greasy

Insomnia, please release me and let me dream

Of makin' mad love to my girl on the heath

Tearin' off tights with my teeth

But there's no release, no peace

I toss and turn without cease

Like a curse, open my eyes, rise like yeast.

At least a couple of weeks

Since I last slept, kept takin' sleepers

But now I keep myself pep

Deeper still, the night

I write by candlelight, I find insight

Fundamental movement

So when it's black

This insomnia takin'-original-tack

Keep the beast in my nature

Under ceaseless attack... I gets no sleep

I can't get no sleep

I can't get no sleep

I can't get no sleep

I need to sleep, I can't get no sleep

I need to sleep, I can't get no sleep………..

*Beat drop - go mental*

Insomnia is horrible.

I have never slept well even as a child and first diagnosed with insomnia at the age of 4.

It has become a part of my life now and something I live with.

"Over active mind . Be proud of it"

Not necessarily, Insomnia can be caused by many different things. Trying to get to the root cause of it can definitely help.

It’s gone six and I’m on my fourth cycle of waking up during the night,I know exactly what my problem is at the moment, a project at work has got to a particularly stressful stage and I wake up thinking about resolutions to issues I’ve got with that.

On a positive side when I do get to sleep I have some vivid dreams sexual and non sexual.

I can sleep, but I have to say the quality of my sleep is crap. I wake up 4-5 times in the night so it’s definitely a disturbed sleep.

So annoying

Sometimes I have nights where I wake up at 4.30-5 and am awake for an hour with my thought

I've always been a chronic insomniac. I still don't sleep perfectly but I accidentally discovered that taking omega 3 supplements helped. I'm currently taking it as well as ashwagandha and sleeping fairly well

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

I have no reason behind it all.

It seems that's all I need.

Catnaps, and even if I force myself to keep awake for 10/12 hours 2 or 3 hours I'm wide awake again.

A work colleague from many years ago, aslo suffered from the same thing.

The many doctors I have spoken to only want to drug you ( it seems the only answer to them is drugs).

I have witnessed some, quite horrific side effects of some of these (sleeping pills), and the huge risk of side effects steers me away from them.

I have some very close friends who succumbed to the "spceil" (speel(forgive the spelling)), and, after some years of having to endure the side effects, took the very brave step, with doctors advice, of weaning themselves off the addiction of sleeping pills, which, let's be honest, have killed many people, due to unintentional overdose, and I'm sure you have heard of many celebrities that have done this!

I (H) am terrible at sleeping. I can go 3 or 4 days without any sleep at all until I'm totally exhausted and then finally get a few hours sleep. This wasn't always the case. I could go to bed and within 2 minutes I would be fast asleep. These days I find that my mind can never relax. It's always in overdrive thinking about something. Even trivial things like did I put the bins out? did I lock the car? and don't even get me started on songs in my head. I've got used to these things now and deal with them on a day to day basis. One good thing that comes out of this is after a couple of nights without sleep and I finally get some, I feel so refreshed and ready for the day ahead.
