Not just swinging, people should realise embrace all things that are not heteronormative and monogamous.
As long as it is between actively consenting adults and doesn't hurt anyone (outside that in consensual kink play that is) then it should be embraced as a healthy sex life. |

No it is what it is for 100s of years people were told pairing for life is what good people doo and shagging your neighbours wife fucked you over so its how people see it but these days peoples opinions matter less and less unless they kick off about it |

In my last poly relationship we made the decision that we wouldn't hide it. The three of us walking down the road hand in hand recieved so many horrible and crude comments she didn't ever want to do it again. I blame the church For our social 'norms'. The medieval churches ordained that we all must follow a list of rules and must be monogamous, else "Eternal damnation", quite effective they were too especially with reports of stoning and beatings.
But irony being of course was that it only really applied to the poor. Clergy and the rich could pay their way to forgiveness.
Just look at the 'Borgias', sex mad and deviant but could pay huge amounts to have their sins forgotten, even when they were part of the 'Church'. If the documentary is even half truthful. |

In my 'real life' most people I know are aware I enjoy this lifestyle. I've not met one person who has judged me or people that partake in this. Some want to ask questions, some don't. My rule is if you ask the right question I'll answer honestly! I don't think pushing for the lifestyle to be mainstream and accepted would benefit, I don't want the clubs full of one off visitors just nosing!

Monogamy is a social value enforced upon us through Christianity.
Draconian rules still deemed acceptable in a supposed free society.
We now accept homosexuality. Rightly so may I add. Yet "polygamy" is frowned upon. Considering the bible.

Peoples freedoms should be more accepted. I don’t mean promoted more than any other choice, but what people do shouldn’t be judged or labels as better or worse than any other way of home soon I guess a healthy relationship.

I was once in a monogamous relationship. And it was perfect for me at that time. I knew of swinging, and admired those that could be happy that way, but it wasn’t for me.
I’m now different, but I now admire those that want or have a monogamous reletationship. |

A fair few people we know, know we swing. There's no one we've come across who has a problem with it. However I understand it still can get some people into trouble in certain professions. That is totally unreasonable if you are descriminated against just because of what you do in the bedroom. However not if you bring the sexual details and activities you do in the bedroom into the work place, that's different IMO (but same as if you were monogamous).
Same problem in some areas of Naturists life. Just the knowledge that you swing in some places can make folk hit the roof and think your the Devil. Like you can't be a swinger and a naturist and enjoy those aspects of your being as separate entities?
In some places there's just an ignorance that we are all sex pests with no self control or the ability to separate and compartmentalised our lives. When you see the hassle some people on here get it would be nice to have some sort of legal protection for our chosen form of lifestyle and sexual expression. |
