Roaming Charges are back for many on holiday in Europe and beware big bills ...
What's going on here guys ..
Is the EU punishing the English again for wanting out or is it the Telecom companies profiteering..
This is all over the news

It's telecoms ripping people off.
They always charged roaming, and sometimes huge bills awaited your return home as a welcome back.
Now they have free hand again to legally rip off the public. |

I’d have thought roaming charges were almost defunct. Most places have in house Wi-Fi that you can hook onto, no need to use mobile data for the most part.
Better still, put the phone down and enjoy the holiday. |

"I miss the EU, and all of the protectionism that came with it."
But we do now have £350m extra every week, so we can all afford to pay for everything- Boris promised us on the side of his magic bus |

This is true. And with this saving it will only take 1342 years to pay off the 47 billion pound divorce bill. Every silver lining I guess |

Protectionism as in 'a protection Raquet'
"
No because protection racquet implies demanding money with menaces.
Protectionism as in protecting your own market, possibly by raising import duties. |

You get charged to change money, you get charged more to book holidays in school holidays you get charged more for a pint of milk in a “foreign” corner shop near your hotel.
It’s a cost of going on holiday.
Suck it up or don’t use your phone on holiday.
Simple.
Ps the phone companies don’t care about Fab Brexit opinions. |

Depending on network roaming charges don’t apply. Vodaphone contract I have you don’t pay roaming in eu or you can take out a daily charge contract that charges about £3 per day only if you use the phone and contracted data many other networks are doing this. That’s something our
#ScumMedia are not telling us. |

I live on the border with the Republic of Ireland and my phone roams daily across different networks without leaving the house but I've never had to pay roaming charges since they were removed.
It's a bit rich blaming the phone companies and like the LIV golfers. You can't walk away from something and then complain about missing out on various benefits. |

And obviously, racquet implies some sort of projectile based game.
It should have been "protection racket".
My only excuse is tiredness. |

I genuinely don't understand why people are surprised by this or think it's unfair. It's like stopping your car insurance payments and expecting to still be covered. |

Simple set a spending price cap.
Or just buy a pre payed phone.
If using a phone is that important perhaps going on holiday is not the best thing to do.
I imagine it's the people who have to share every last fucking detail of the holiday on insta and the like.
A picture of the taxi that's taking them to the airport, the airport, the food at the airport, the toilet on the plane, the arrivals lounge the other end, the transfer coach...........
40+ pictures a day every day.
IM NOT FUCKING INTERESTED.
This is why I don't do any social media I have no interest in what my niece has had for dinner on a Tuesday night in November.
