..delivered at ten past midnight today.

I remember getting up at 5.30am when I delivered milk as a kid. Is it just us or do all milk(persons) deliver this early?

Is it an early delivery, or a late one?

I did a milk round when I was a kid.

All others around me were delivering papers ‘evening news’ but there I was jumping in a milk cart outside my house at 6am on a Saturday…and still on the same street 10 mins later. damn those things are slow.

I can boast I never dropped or smashed a bottle in the year I did that.

The fastest milk cart in the west!!!!

I did drive it a few times. I was only 15 so this was super exiting too.

I say drive’ pull up the road to speed things up now and again.

couple, us we him her.

When I did my round apart from Tuesday I used to start around midnight and used to finish about lunchtime the following day on Monday and Saturday I'd be lucky to be done by 2pm.

It was particularly worse if the sales team had been out canvasing for new customers and suddenly dropped an extra 50 customers onto your already massive round.

I had close to 650 customers on my round.

I only lasted 6 months, one of the hardest Jobs I've ever had tbh

Only day off was Sunday and that was taken up with doing the books.

I'm sure it's all electronic now and much easier.
