What is something you should know/be able to do as an adult that you don't/can't?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I'm 33 this month and can't ride a bike. I've got no physical disabilities that would impare my ability but just never grasped it and gave up trying when I was about 8, and have tried a handful of times casually over the years, with no success. What's something that as an adult you really should know or be able to do but can't? (Obviously excluding anything that you can't do because of a disability or disorder) |

Write capital K’s. Never been able to do it despite the fact I consider myself eloquent in the English language and literature. My brain just lapses. I also can’t drink alcohol but that’s because of mental illness |

Leaving aside that nowadays, I'm physically incapable of roller skating and ice skating (on standard skates), these are two skills I never mastered as an able bodied person.
Nowadays, I can't do anything much that involves putting feet on the ground I'm a dab hand at getting a manual wheelchair to all manner of places though! |

Pretty useless at anything practical/diy too I’ve got myself in some real pickles as a result inc gluing myself to furniture and locking myself in rooms! It’s really quite amazing how bad I am |

Yeh I can't do those things either. Just seem like accidents waiting to happen and I'm pretty risk averse.
Curious to know where you get the wheelchair now? |

Well. The user manual says not to go up/down slopes of more than 7° incline. I definitely do that. I've taken it off-road (no special adaptions) on cliff paths to beaches, across boulder-strewn archaeological sites, etc. |

I struggle to express my emotions/feelings in a coherent and adult manner.
I know when I'm happy and I know when I'm sad. The rest is just a grey area filled with confusion and anxiety.

GONE/TIMEOUT (No DMs please) |
I'm also in the can't swim club.
I had to learn to adult pretty quick so can do the important stuff.
Probably loads I haven't realised that I can't do.
Should I be able to put up a shelf? (I can't) or sew? (I can manage a button) |
