Snapmaps warning

Folks just saw that with the new Snapchat update someone can see your exact location on snap maps and from that it lets you export to google maps and gives you an address that they are currently in, urging everyone to turn snapmaps off

If that made no sense at all pm me and I will send you a screenshot of the Facebook post

If Facebook is the source, I'm assuming it's scaremongering based on a misunderstanding.

Says a) it's off by default, b) is only on for 15 minutes at a time, c) can only be sent to individuals, not groups.

I seen the post on Facebook and thought “Hrmm surely not”, so I went on snapmaps and clicked on a few people and was able to get and address of were they were at still pretty mental if you ask me

I do not use snapchat. My thought is though. If you can see someones address . How quick to screenshot and then pass on ? Defeats the 15 minute function entirely ?

If you take a screenshot on Snapchat it tells the person you've done it as well.

It was the only source I could find that seemed relevant, but was from 4 months ago, and may not be correct either.
