So last night I had a couple of pints at "The Blind Begger" the Eastend boozer where Ronnie Kray shot and killed George Cornell.
Anyone know of any other pubs, clubs or hidey holes with infamous pasts? |

"She had a couple last night. ^"
If you'd of seen the amount of young, fit, hot men there last night you wouldn't blame me for having more than a couple ;-p
Sadly I was behaving myself so I just downed the beers |

"We regularly use the roundabout that is built over the spot where King Harold fell in 1066"
It there any signage to let people know of the historical significance? |

No because it's widely believed to be on the part of the battle field that's still within the abbey confines. However some historians have narrowed it down to this particular unedifying spot. Poor Harold. |

There are a series of arrows, no matter what direction you approach from.
It's all very tasteful |

"The Prospect of Whitby is another famous pub with another long and bloody history "
Used to drink there in the early 1960s when I was working in London. The kids round there used to charge you 2 shillings (10p) to look after your car which if you paid it still had the hubcaps on when you came out of the pub.
Been back many times over the years but not recently. |

Am guessing it was a different clientele back then? Dockers and navvies rather than families and hipsters? |

The Skirrid Inn near Abergavenny was alleged to have had a courtroom in it and many prisoners are said to have been hung from one of the beams there. It also claims to be the most haunted Inn in the country so I'm not too sure how much truth there is in the courtroom claim.

"Been to The Old Bailey a few hundred times… doesn’t get much more notorious.."
Indeed. I have never been to the OB. I really should go and give it a nose. |
