Why do you still need to be able to view someone's profile if you know they're not gonna be interested in you?
(I'm not saying anyone got arsey with me personally, just that I've seen people be arsey about it)

There's no excuse, I wouldn't be arsed if someone blocked me. I'd just be a bit gutted that I couldn't enjoy their content anymore. |

How is blocking weak ? If you tried everything to make them understand you not interested. I'll argue viewpoints but I not arguing "Stupidity".

I use the block button,
1 for anyone that I'm outside of their age range, so their posts don't keep coming up on my update's.
2 for anyone that I message that takes the time to reply with a no thank you, so I don't inadvertently message them again.
3 for anyone that read's and delete's my messages, they're obviously not interested in me so as above if they are blocked I won't inadvertently message them again.

Are you talking just about fab or other social media sites too?
On fab, I block plenty of profiles, not because I don't like them but because I know that I don't match with someone and the only way I can stop their profile from coming up on searches is by blocking them. We do not have a "hide" option. Even if it's because someone hates another person, I don't see a reason to get pissed off. It's an anonymous site. If someone is going to be offended because they were blocked by an unknown member, they are going to have a tough time navigating real life  |

Fab.
On SM it's to show someone you're royally pissed off/don't want them in your life anymore and seeing what you're up to.
On fab I don't want people to keep seeing half naked pics of me if I'm not into them. And/or I don't want them to keep messaging. Obviously can't be as hot as they say if they've already forgotten me two days later  |
