Both cities are beautiful, but beware, shops close on a Sunday...

I’m off to Frankfurt next week, new city for me. Work trip though so won’t be much fun

Munich - conservative, lots of culture, can cycle everywhere, the stunning Bavarian countryside outside the city to explore. Great if you like restaurants. It’s beautiful. Very German.

Berlin - cosmo. Best clubbing life in the world. Faster paced and more like London but smaller. It doesn’t really feel German though. Can be a bit “bland” if you want to see historic German culture. Very buzzy but activity focused.

"Thought of looking on YouTube then?"

We have actually, but thought we'd ask for human opinion as struggling to make our mind up

Whichever you do, do coffee and cake in a traditional konditor. Best cake ever.

Personally I prefer Munich, more traditional, lots of great places to see, drink and eat at. Berlin is great and very vibrant but can be a bit too busy at times. Depends what you are looking for. Enjoy, whatever you do.

Excellent summary. They're both great in their own separate ways and you can sunbathe naked in the public parks

Agree all this, but would add that Berlin can't be beaten if you're interested in the Cold War etc. I love both cities, but Berlin would get my vote! And as well the cake, have a famous Berlin red or green beer!
