"A lot of people.
But the Rod got the same reaction at the jubilee concert.
Seems it may be time for some old rockers to take a seat.
Diana seemed to kill it though "
Diana was miming at the Jubilee concert |

Neither Diana Ross not Paul McCartney were what they once were. I thought Paul showed great stamina and put on a good show and Diana was... well...Diana. I'm torn between admiring them and appreciating them for their ability and acknowledging that none of us are quite like we were 40 years ago and thinking for the love of all that is holy, stop! |

"I’ve always thought Paul M was crap! I didn’t like the Beatles either.
I agree, if they had it once, it doesn’t last forever that’s for sure!!! "
Totally agree!
I just do not understand why he is venerated as this god-like human. Especially now. He's an embarrassment |

A cpl of my friends watched them on Saturday night and by all accounts they where absolutely brilliant and Mick jagger still has an amazing voice and can still run around the stage like a mad man |

local, but not too local |
I liked the later Beatles stuff he covered because I like the later Beatles.
I can leave the rest, tbh.
But if I can keep going for the best part of 3 hrs when I’m 80 I’ll be a happy man. |

Diana Ross was woeful at Glastonbury, luckily she had strong backing singers who covered her attempts at hitting a note in tune.
Given their respective ages, Macca, Rod and Ms Ross deserve our praise, Macca is a full on national treasure.
I saw the Stones in London on Saturday and they were brilliant, one of the best Stones gigs that I have seen and I’ve seen them more than 25 times. Jagger still has presence and still has his voice. I don’t know why that is, luck I suppose. |

I don't know what makes someone's voice remain strong into older age. We were watching Diana Ross and felt she almost ruined some of the songs that were the background to our youth. |

I never said they didn't.
You can be influenced by someone & far exceed them in talent, you know |

"Who else thought he was really shit "
All these old bastards should hang up they're vocal cords with their garters.
None of them can sing, Tom Jones can still do it but not for long.
We love to death but stick to writing great songs as none of you sound to great these days. |

Their voices have gone. Almost everyone goes the same way after years of extreme use.

This sums the experience up….it would have been a definite no on the X factor…. |

"The performance has been held up as one of the best Glastonbury performances ever.
If you didn’t like it fine. But it was far from shit."
Paul McCartney's performance was one of the best performances at Glastonbury ever?!
Think some people are blinded by idol worship. |

I thought his set was awsome, he put on a great show with some unexpected music legends making an appearance, to say he was shit is total crap..
I have been to Glasto many times and I would say he put on one of the best shows I have seen on the pyramid stage |

I recorded . So have not seen yet. From comments here and on news feeds. How much of his voice , sounding off is due to the sound engineers ? I may be wrong . At other say stadiums . Then people like Paul McCartney do sound / rehearsals. Not sure if able to do say on Pyramid stage? They do rehearsals somewhere else. Plus where microphones pick up voice and music to be sent to people watching at home also. |

nobody generally gets to rehearse at a festival- you do that elsewhere days before.
Bands do usually soundcheck before a gig, but this isn't often possible at a festival, so they'll probably line check equipment for signals, and provide a monitor feed of certain parts of the music to each performer. While possibly not up to the standard you get for a stand alone gig with dedicated soundcheck time for each band, Glastonbury is not going to be engineered by Fat Bob, who does the sound for the pub quiz in the nearby village- they'll have some of the best desk monkeys in the business.
Also, i've worked on one of Maccas solo gigs, and he wasn't exactly anything to write home about....i watched 10 minutes then went to watch telly with a brew, as it was more entertaining.
Fair to say he's showing his age, unlike Tom Jones who can still belt them out with gusto and clarity |

I saw Tom Jones on saturday last week (the Stereophonics were top bill) and Tom Jones was rubbish imo, he was frail, didn't know the words and seemed unsure of where he was. However i can't stand the man and his singing so i'm biased anyway. |

"Must say early Beatles songs were rubbish stuff like she loves you and I wanna hold your hand . At a time when Dylan was doing masters of war "
Erm..so why did Dylan summon them and eventually go electric? He was impressed by what he heard. |

He influenced him but never taught as such. Rubber Soul was a very Dylan influenced Beatles album but that had been creeping in since Help!
Lennon had worn a Dylanesque style hat often but the others took the mick so he ditched it.
Dylan later on went electric with no thought given to amplification and was almost lynched by his folk peers. |
