After splitting with my long term partner a few years ago, I went through a rough patch and slowly building myself back.

Whilst at rock bottom I discovered walking and hiking band found it so therapeutic, it really helps to take everyday life stress away.

Is anyone else into Hiking or maybe suggest other stress relieving activities (apart from sex of course )

I’ve got more into running in recent years, that can help when you’re wound up or stressed. Get some decent tunes in your headphones

I love hiking. Look me up if you fancy company.

Something very simple to relieve stress is box breathing. You can find guidance videos on YouTube.

It’s something I’m starting off with, I’m just walking round my village at the moment.

I’ve bought some decent walking boots though and I’m looking to start doing more adventurous walks, the biggest hurdle for me is finding good routes to try!

Some company would be great too!

Northampton Somewhere

I love to walk, on my own, with my dog or with a group I joined a while ago through fb. I love it, with my group we go all over the place. Often to areas I drive through its great seeing the county from a different perspective

I started hiking 10 years ago and it has made an amazing difference in my general health and especially mental health.

I have summited the highest peaks in Britain and Ireland numerous times and been to some of the highest points in Yosemite.

I have been restricted for various reasons most of this year and haven't done too many mountains but have discovered lots of old bridle paths and laneways to explore.

Delightful Bliss

Water walking is therapeutic as well, I use the splash zone up to my ankles to have a soothing stroll

Walking in the mountains always make me realise how small we are. Therefore any problems I have are also small and insignificant…

There’s nothing better than a walk in the mountains - away from civilisation and every day life

I like to thrash around a wheelchair basketball court in an aggressive and high speed manner. Gets all the stresses out

Love walking, used to hike and did Scafell a couple of years ago. Such a good feeling getting to the top, was cloudy so we didn't see much

Love a good hike

My goal is to walk/hike 10miles a day

Nothing better than the freedom to roam wherever our feet can take us

Any form of exercise is proven to relieve stress and improve mental health. In fact, just talking a walk in an area that's green, a park or field say... My best tip is to find something you enjoy doing otherwise you'll not stick with it. No point buying a bike if you hate riding etc. You'll probably find too that as you exercise you start to want to do more and more often, that's quite natural. Anyway, glad your mental health is improving.. It's as important as physical fitness

Gateway to the Beacons

wild swimming, cold water, walks in the beacons often have a place to have a cold dip

It was a friend of mines that got me into it too. Fair play on the three peaks challenge that’s definitely on the list to tick off, and I’m planning Snowden in the next few months, Ben Nevis will probably be next year now but slowly ticking them off.

So far I’ve done Helvellyn along Striding & Swirral Edge, attempted Scafell Pike but the weather was atrocious and wasn’t prepared for the onslaught of rain and wind so abandoned that one for safety.

I’ve done the Pen Y Fan trail round Corn Du, Fan Y Big. I’ve done a few other lesser known hills and loads around South Wales now like Twmbarlwm some in Cwmtillery too.

I love it

Scafell is beautiful just the drive up was amazing but the morning of the climb it was the worst weather the rain and wind was ridiculous. We didn’t even get a quarter of the way up and had to turn back.

Definitely gonna attempt it again it was so nice just a shame about the weather.
